This story is set 3 years after the last chapter of deathly hallows entitled "19 Years Later", so it's basically 22 years after Deathly Hallows.

Special thanks to all of the BETA readers who helped me with this piece.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ron loved the way she danced - so carefree and just playful. It would grow into something that he loved about her. No, not Hermione; Luna. That wonderful name, Luna. Ron wanted to shout if from the top of buildings just so everyone could hear. He loved Luna Lovegood. Or rather, Aunty Luna, as she was affectionately called by his and Harry's children. Suddenly, a pang of guilt struck his heart. His children. The children that he had with his wife, Hermione. She was his wife, his best friend, and he could not bear the thought of hurting her. He looked miserably out from the window.

Hermione Weasley stood behind her husband. She knew that he was miles away, staring at the one whom he really loved. She wasn't angry or upset, or even hurt. She had known for some time that there was a connection between Ron and Luna, and though as small as it started out, it grew to massive proportions. Almost like the connection between her and Harry. Harry and her had long ago confessed their true feelings to one another. They had promised not to tell anyone quite yet.. However, they continued to see each other. Trying not to be completely involved with romance, seeing as how they were both married to people they still cared deeply for, was a challenging task to accomplish. But they didn't love them. At least, they weren't in love with them. Harry wasn't in love with Ginny anymore than how Hermione wasn't in love with Ron. Harry and Hermione spent most of the time they had together just enjoying each other's company. But now, if Hermione could get Ron to come to terms with his true feelings, maybe they could all begin to go in the correct direction - to heal.

"Ron?," came Hermione's voice. He jumped at the sound of it. How long had she been standing behind him?

"Yes, Hermione?," Ron answered. He hoped he wasn't in trouble for anything again. He had set a cleaning charm on the dishes already, he was sure of it...

"I know, Ron."

Ron stopped thinking about the dishes and looked at her with an odd expression on his face. What had she meant?

Hermione sighed. "I know how you feel about Luna," she said bravely. Ron paled and his expression turned to almost a fearful one.

"Honestly, Hermione, nothing has happened, I swear-"

Hermione put a finger to his lips. "It's okay, Ron. It's all okay. I know it's what is right."
Ron couldn't believe what he was hearing. Was Hermione giving him permission to do what he had wanted to do for the past three years? To go outside and snog Luna like there was no tomorrow? Hermione seemed to have read his mind.

"Go to her." Hermione whispered. Ron almost broke down. He wrapped Hermione in his arms, and kissed the top of her head in thanks. Then he went out the door.

Ron ran outside into the cold, not caring that wet snow was soaking his shoes. Luna saw him running.

"Why, hello Ronald! What are you-" Ron cut Luna off with the most passionate kiss of his life.

She froze in his arms, but soon seemed to melt. She stood on her toes and kissed him back. Neither one ceased the kiss until air became an issue. Ron looked at Luna, his Luna. She looked so perfect. Snowflakes covered her blonde hair and lingered on her eyelashes. She was wearing the wonderfully insane turnip earrings that Ron had grown to love so much. He had grown to love her so much.

Ron didn't know how long they stared at each other before they kissed again. It seemed like a year, just looking into her crystal blue eyes. He loved everything about her. From her mismatched socks to her curiosity of the world and beyond to her faith in God, humanity, and anything that seemed impossible. Ron loved her. He knew he had to tell her. He broke the kiss and started to speak, but Luna cut him off.

"I know, Ronald. I've always known."

Ron and Luna softly kissed once more.

Back inside the house, Hermione had just thrown the floo powder into the fireplace. She stepped in and stated the place where she wanted to be most. A few seconds later, she stepped out of Harry's fireplace, only to find him sitting on the couch.

"I take it Ron and Luna finally came through?," Harry asked.

Hermione only smiled. Harry stood up and met her lips with his. It was the first time they kissed since they confessed their feelings to each other long ago. It would be the first kiss of many.
