Hey guys! I came up with this plot a while ago and I've been working on it for a couple days and thought I should post it on portkey. Before I start, the reason I don't put a year is that my story doesn't really fit in with the characters proper age and I didn't want to go through all the mathematical stuff just to find the right years. Not fun for me since I'm horrid at math.

Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters of Harry Potter…*sigh*

September 3rd

She looked like an angel. The white nightgown they had given her made her skin look pale, flawless. Her expression was one of peace, her sooty eyelashes brushing against her cheeks. The corners of her mouth were turned up in a soft smile, the scar from a cut she received barely visible. Her curly brown hair framed her face delicately and rested on her shoulders. She reminded him of the muggle fairy tale Sleeping Beauty. He was the prince and she was the beautiful princess, under a spell that made her sleep until true loves first kiss.

He gave a shaky sigh and ran a hand through his raven hair, a habit he apparently inherited from his father. Beside him, his best friend Ron Weasley stared blankly at her, tears running down his face. The two of them were both bruised and bloodied up from the fight, but they wouldn't allow the healers to treat them. She came first.

“Come on you two,” The two men jumped as a hand landed on each of their shoulders. Remus Lupin looked down at them, sympathy evident in his eyes, “We need to get you guys healed.”

“But Hermione-”

“The healers are working as hard as they can trying to find what curse she was hit with. It's going to take some time for them to find it, Harry. And besides, it's late and the both of you are exhausted.”

“We're fine.” Ron mumbled, shrugging Remus' hand off of his shoulder.

Remus sighed, “How do you think Molly will react if she sees you two like this? They've already healed Hermione as best they could, now it's your turn.”

Harry didn't dare talk, if he did he that he was sure he would break down. He nodded, letting Remus take him by the arm. “There we go. Come on, Ron.”

Ron muttered a curse under his breath but got up and followed the two out of the room. Blinding flashes of lights greeted them as reporters pushed their way over to the two boys.

“Mr. Potter, is it true you defeated You-Know-Who tonight?”

“Are you and Mr. Weasley alright?”

“Where's Miss. Granger? Is that her hospital room? What happened to her?”

“Did you really defeat him or will He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named be back again in another ten years?”

“That's enough!” Remus roared. The reporters jumped back a little and the waiting room went quiet. “I don't know who let you in or how you even know about this but as you can see, these boys have been through a great deal and need some rest. Get out or I will have you arrested on the spot.” The reporters grumbled at the werewolf but grudgingly they started to leave.

Remus huffed and led Ron and Harry down the hall to another room. Healers swooped down on them as soon as the walked through the door, leading the two teens to their hospital beds. Harry was instructed to lie down on his bed while the healers went through numerous spells to heal his wounds. When he was done, he was given Dreamless Sleeping potion.

“What about-”

“We'll wake you up if your friends condition changes.” Harry opened his mouth to tell the man that he knew you couldn't be woken up from the potion, but the healers was forcing the horrible liquid down his throat.

Harry coughed and sputtered, glaring at the man as he went to Ron and did the same thing to him. “I'll stay by Hermione tonight while you guys rest,” Remus reassured them. He gave a weary smile and walked out of the room.

Harry settled back into his pillow, beginning to feel a little drowsy. He thought defeating Voldemort would be a happier occasion. The feeling he got when he saw Hermione's unconscious form lying on the ground was much, much worse then when he found out it was only him who could defeat Voldemort, more heart wrenching then when he saw Snape kill Dumbledore.

“They'll find a way to wake her up,” Ron said, his voice thick with drowsiness. “They got to…”

Harry nodded, his eyes closing.

Harry awoke to someone stroking his hair. He groaned and opened his eyes, blinking a couple of times to adjust to the brightness of the room. His vision was blurry, someone had taken his glasses off in his sleep.

“Good morning,” Someone said softly. Who ever was stroking his hair stopped and handed him his glasses. Harry sat up and put them on. The youngest and only girl of the Weasley clan was smiling brightly back at him.

“Ginny.” Harry said, slightly surprised to see his ex-girlfriend. He coughed, “Good morning.”

“I'm so proud of you!” She squealed, launching herself at him. Harry wasn't ready for that and was flung back into his pillow. He felt his face get really warm at their new position, “I always knew you'd be the one who would defeat You-Know-Who!”

It took Harry a couple of minutes to register what Ginny was saying. “I had help Gin.” Harry protested, “Ron and Hermione helped…HERMIONE!”

Harry pushed the younger girl off of him and jumped off the bed. She glared at him as he ran out of the room and down the hall, ignoring the protests of the nurses. He skidded to a halt in front of Hermione's room, almost running into a tired looking Tonks.

“Harry!” Tonks clutched her chest and glared at him, “Don't do that.”

“Sorry.” Harry said, “How's Hermione?”

Tonks smiled sadly, “No change. They don't know what curse she was hit with.”

“Damn.” Harry wanted to punch something. He angrily ran a hand through his hair, “They don't have any clue at all?”

“Sorry.” Tonks shook her head. Harry noticed that her eyes were really bright and he realized that there were tears in her eyes. “It's hard on all of us.”

“HARRY!” Harry was spun around and pulled into a bone crushing hug that only Mrs. Weasley could give. Harry winced as she hugged him tighter, “Oh Harry…” She sobbed. “I came as soon as I heard. How are Ron and Hermione? Are you hurt?”

“Molly, dear, let the poor boy breathe.” Balding Mr. Weasley said, placing a hand on his wife's shoulder. She reluctantly let go of him, taking out a handkerchief and wiping her eyes. “Congratulations, Harry my boy.”

“Thanks, Mr. Weasley.” Harry said grimly. He looked over at Tonks silently asking her to explain what was happening. She seemed to understand and nodded. Harry excused himself and went into Hermione's room. Ron was already there, holding Hermione's limp hand.

“Your parents are out there,” Harry said, pulling a chair up to the other side of the bed and sitting down. Hermione looked exactly like she did the previous night.

“I heard Mum.” Ron said, staring at Hermione. “They haven't found what happened to her.” He cursed.

“Tonks told me.” Harry reached out and tenderly brushed a strand of her brown hair out of her face. He missed her so much. He'd fight Voldemort all over again so she could wake up. To his dismay, Harry felt tears start to form as he looked at Hermione. He took his glasses off and rubbed his eyes.

“I remember how she looked at Bill's wedding.” Ron said, smiling. “It was like a whole new Hermione.”

Harry put his glasses back on and stared at his friend, “You're talking like she's already gone.” He accused.

“I don't mean it like that mate,” Ron said softly, looking up at Harry for the first time, “I'm just starting to remember some of the times we had together…Merlin did Hermione look good at that wedding.”

“She's always been pretty.” Harry said, defending Hermione.

August 4th, 2 years earlier

Ron tugged at the collar of his dress robes while he glared at his best friend. “How can you stand these bloody things?” He growled, tugging so hard at the collar that the material almost ripped. He immediately let go.

“They aren't that bad, Ron.” Harry grinned. He was enjoying his friend's unease a little too much. He leaned back in his chair to watch Ron pace back and forth, “Why are you so fidgety?”

“I. Hate. These. Bloody. Things.” Ron growled, now tugging at the sleeves.

“Be thankful you don't have to wear those maroon robes again,” Harry cackled ducking as Ron chucked a pillow towards him. “Or one of those tuxedoes muggles wear.”

Ron muttered some colorful words and flopped down on the couch, “How long is Hermione going to take anyways?”

“I dunno.” Harry replied, looking back at the staircase. The two boys agreed to wait for their female friend before heading out to the gardens where Bill and Fleur's wedding was going to take place. “She's supposed to take a long time, she is a girl.”

“But Hermione's not that girly.”

“Hope she didn't hear you say that.” Fred quipped, walking into the room with his twin brother.

“If there is any occasion a girl goes all out it is a wedding.” George added, sitting on the arm of the chair Ron was sitting in. “They get all mushy and sentimental.”

“And they want to impress the guys.” Fred poked Ron in the head.

“The single girls are the ones who really dress up.”

“Shows the guys that they're available and looking.”

“Like you two would know anything about this.” Ron scoffed, rolling his eyes.

“Believe it or not I've already had two of Fleur's bridesmaids make a move on me.” Fred boasted, puffing out his chest.

“Yeah right.” Ron said, sharing a look with Harry.

“Sorry to keep you guys waiting.” The four boys turned towards the staircase as Hermione walked down the stairs. She looked gorgeous. She was wearing a red halter dress that went down to her ankles. On her left side there was slit all the way up to mid thigh. Harry gulped and tugged at his collar, it was starting to get a little warm in the room.

“Hermione,” George let out a low wolf whistle as he walked up to her and walked around her.

“Where have you been hiding this?” Fred joined his brother walking around her.

Hermione blushed and looked over at Harry and Ron, “It isn't over the top, is it?” She asked biting her lip.

“You,” Ron started, his voice squeaky. He glared at his brothers as they laughed at him and cleared his throat, “You, you…wow.”

“She looks great, doesn't she?” Ginny ascended down the stairs in her bridesmaid dress. Harry felt a flutter in his stomach as she stared at him. It was going to be a long day if he had to deal with two gorgeous women, his hormones wouldn't be able to handle it. Ginny walked over to Hermione, hitting George on her way, who was looking appreciatively at Hermione's backside.

“You should see Fleur.” Hermione said, blushing prettily. “She looks breathtaking!”

“Ron you're letting the flies in,” Fred chuckled, cuffing the back of his younger brother's head. Ron's ears went pink and he glared at him.

Harry cleared his throat and got up from his chair, “We can head out to the garden now that Hermione's here.” He said. He grew slightly uncomfortable when Ginny wrapped her arm around his, but didn't do anything. He didn't want to cause a scene so he walked out of the room, looking over his shoulder at Hermione.

And there you have it, the first chapter. I know there are probably some grammatical errors but this hasn't been beta'd yet. I don't even have a beta so there's nothing I can really do. Anyways, I hope you liked it. Review!

Until next time,
