Disclaimer: I don't any of this, they are all JKR...etc yeah you get it
Warning: There are some major spoilers for book1-6
A/N: I am incredibly sorry that I have had to do this but as I wrote this fic the first time without the intention of writing a sequel, it has come to my attention that there are a lot of plot holes and things needing to be fixed up. If you have already read this fic, I do suggest you read it again, as there will be major plot changes happening and you will probably not understand the sequel very much.
Chapter 1: Revelations
The sky above swirled with bruised purples and blacks. Thunder growled in the distance, and a flash of lightening illuminated the rough plains below.
A seventeen-year-old boy stood gazing into the distance as rain pounded on his face. His grey eyes swept over the multitude before him, coming to rest on a raven-haired boy. He nodded at the boy, who nodded in return to show it was time.
Unsheathing a sword, the boy climbed gracefully onto a black dragon and stared determinedly before him. The dragon raised its black leathery wings and soared into the air. The boy scanned the ground and narrowed his eyes as he saw a man standing on a hill before him.
“Come to play messenger, boy?” The man said laughing at the boy's cold expression.
“Just like you asked, Harry will be here.” The boy said sharply. “ I hope you still have enough decency to stay to your word.”
Without waiting for an answer, the boy turned and soared back to the army that he would soon be leading into battle.
Voldemort swept his pitiless red eyes over his army. “So it begins,” he said softly.
Ginny Weasley awoke with a start and held a hand to her eyes. “What was that?” Ginny said to herself as she pondered all that she had just seen. “A dream? But it seemed so real…”
Ginny scrambled out of her bed and looked at her clock. 3:45am, she read. It was too early to get up, but she doubted she would be able to sleep again after such a strange dream.
Sighing, she stared into the mirror. A pale sixteen-year-old girl stared back at her, confusion swirling in her brown eyes.
Ginny played absently with a piece of her long crimson hair as she moved her gaze to the window. Pulling back the curtains slightly, she stared into the black sky.
Somewhere out there Harry, Ron, and Hermione were searching for a way to defeat Voldemort. She hoped they were safe. Everything depended on them…
Ginny sighed and sat on her bed. Tomorrow she would be catching the Hogwarts Express to start her sixth year at Hogwarts, but it wouldn't be the same, not since the events of last year…
Hogwarts had received a lot of attention since Dumbledore's death. The school had almost been closed, but thanks to McGonogall's pleas it had been allowed to reopen.
So Ginny was returning, the last of her family and probably one of the few students that were returning. Her parents thought she would be safer at the school than she would be at home. They were probably right, but that didn't stop Ginny wishing she could do something to help.
Harry, Hermione, and Ron had left after Bill and Fleur's wedding to go look for Horcruxes. Ginny had asked to come, but Harry had told her to stay. He didn't want her getting hurt, and he knew it would be dangerous. Ginny had not taken kindly to his wanting to protect her. She wanted to fight with him by his side…but in the end Ginny had stayed. She didn't want Harry worrying about her, and he was right; they would target her to get to him.
Ginny smiled sadly as she thought of Harry. She didn't know if she loved him, but she knew she cared about him greatly. They had been girlfriend and boyfriend for a few short weeks, but then everything had changed. They had broken up at the end of her fifth year, and now she didn't know what to think about their relationship…she didn't even know if she wanted to think about their relationship; the fear that Harry may not come back always haunted her…
Ginny sighed to herself again, deciding that she should really try and get some more sleep as she crawled back into bed.
OOOOOOOOO
Mrs Weasley hugged her daughter one last time before kissing her on the head.
“Darling, please take care of yourself!” Mrs Weasley cried tearfully.
“Mum, I'll be fine; I promise,” Ginny said, gently pulling herself away. “I've got to go, or I'll miss the train,” Ginny said, picking up her bag.
Mrs Weasley nodded and waved goodbye as Ginny walked onto the Hogwarts Express. People were pushing and shoving as they tried to find their friends, their loud voices echoing through the hallway.
Ginny found a compartment by herself; she didn't feel like talking to anyone.
She sat on the chair and stared at her mother one last time out the window before Mrs Weasley vanished with a small pop.
Ginny closed her eyes. “I will not cry,” she told herself sternly, but she couldn't help the tears that began to slide down her cheeks.
There was no telling what would happen this year. She had no Ron to bother her with his over protectiveness or Hermione to boss her into doing homework, and no Harry to make all her worries disappear. She was alone, and even though her other friends would be there…it just wouldn't be the same.
Curling up on the seat, she let her tears fall freely before drifting slowly to sleep…
BOOM!
Ginny awoke with a start and felt herself being thrown out of her seat. Pain like she had never felt before seared through her head, and she realised she was lying on grass rather than in her train compartment.
Screams filled the air, and slowly Ginny raised her aching head.
“Oh no!” she gasped as she saw the Hogwarts Express burning; pieces of metal scattered everywhere.
Ginny stood up and looked around. She swallowed as she saw the dead bodies of her classmates lying on the ground, disfigured and covered in blood, staring blankly up at her. Desperate screams were coming from people trapped inside the blazing train wreckage.
Ginny tried to walk but found she couldn't use her legs. She stumbled to the ground and hit her head. Swirling darkness consumed her and she knew no more. --> |
