AN: Okay this was inspired by the song I used in the story. It's not mine, it belongs to Big&Rich. I just borrowed the lyrics and changed the names to say `Harry' and `Ron'. Otherwise, I don't own it. If you happen to have the CD with this song on it, listen to it while reading this. It adds a whole new experience ha-ha. Anyway please read and review!
*~*~*~*~*~*
Twenty-four year old Hermione Granger sat in the back of a crowded karaoke bar wishing she were closer to the exit than she was. Her face was flaming scarlet as she tried to duck lower and lower in the wooden chair at the small round table she was sitting at.
Up on the stage, her fiancé and best friend, Harry Potter was singing a karaoke song along with their mutual best friend Ron Weasley. They were both very drunk, having had more than a little too much beer that night.
They had decided to try out karaoke a few months ago when Ginny, Ron's younger sister and Harry's ex-girlfriend but still very good friend, had mentioned that it was blast. Therefore, they had gone and they were immediately hooked.
They'd all found that they had a knack for it and kept coming back every Friday night. Tonight, however, Hermione wished that they hadn't come at all. Ron and Harry were making a spectacle of themselves, singing the most outrages songs they could find. At the moment, they were singing some song about being a `Barbie Girl'.
Soon the song ended and Hermione thought that her torture was over.
How wrong she was.
To her immense horror, she suddenly heard Ron's slightly slurred speech coming from the stage.
“And now we'd like to sing a song that's quite special to our hearts.”
The crowd clapped enthusiastically and the music started. If Hermione had been embarrassed before it was nothing compared to now.
Harry:
Ron
Ron:
Yes
Harry:
Ron
Ron:
Yes
Harry: Ron, someone's has to
Ron:
Somebody's got to, Harry
Harry:
Ron, someone has to be unafraid
Ron:
Someone's GOT to be unafraid Harry
Harry:
To lead the freak parade! Ohhhh
Both:
Somebody's got to be unafraid to lead the freak parade
Somebody's got to be unafraid to lead the freak parade (hey)
Somebody's got to be unafraid to lead the freak parade
To lead the freak, to lead the freak, to lead the freak parade
Harry:
Ron, let's see if the kids can keep up. All you kids in the car,
let's see how fast you can follow the bouncing ball. 1, 2, 1 2 3
At this point Harry and Ron both started to encourage the crowd to sing with them and `follow' the bouncing ball.
Both:
Well, somebody's got to be unafraid to lead the freak parade
Somebody's got to be unafraid to lead the freak parade (hey)
Somebody's got to be unafraid to lead the freak parade
To lead the freak, to lead the freak, to lead the freak parade
Again
Somebody's got to be unafraid to lead the freak parade
Somebody's got to be unafraid to lead the freak parade (hey)
Somebody's got to be unafraid to lead the freak parade
To lead the freak to lead the freak, to lead the freak parade (hey)
YAY
Ron:
Happiness and fun for everyone
When the song ended, the whole bar erupted into applause and calls for an encore. Ron and Harry bowed and mucked it up with the crowd.
Hermione continued to sit in her seat in the back, muttering to herself softly. “I don't know them, I don't know them.”
Unfortunately, for Hermione, her prayers weren't to be answered this night. For in the next instant she heard Harry's voice say, “And I'd like to invite my lovely fiancé, Hermione Granger, up on the stage.”
Hermione sat frozen in her seat for a full minute before realizing that she had no choice but to move because every eye in the bar was on her. As she stood up, she muttered to herself, “I am going to kill him. I am going to kill him. There will be no sex for him tonight.”
Stepping on the stage, she gave Harry the ugliest look she could.
“Thank you Hermione,” Harry said loudly, before turning back to the crowd. “Okay and for our next song, we'll being doing another Big&Rich song, Save A Horse (Ride A Cowboy).”
Hermione nearly had a heart attack right there on the stage. He is going to die, she thought as the music started and she had no choice but to start singing along. We are NEVER going out to a karaoke bar again.
