Reverie

Left here alone, and unsure of what I feel

unclear, but I see just what I'm afraid of……

A raven-haired boy -I mean man- sat alone at the top of a tall astronomy tower. He was reminiscing as the tears of pain and anguish slowly fell down his face, and onto his bloodstained dirty robes.

I can't find my way anymore

and I cannot heal the wounds I've created

and I can't let go of what's killing me……

Silent footsteps creep up behind him. He doesn't notice. Tears continue to fall as the footsteps draw nearer, and nearer to him. The painful memories are killing him inside, and he has no one to help him deal.

Falling from this edge

I am lost to all, I know

I cannot breathe anymore……

A soft, small hand slowly rests upon his shoulder as a quiet voice speaks. “Harry, are you okay?” the girl -woman- asks. He doesn't answer. “Harry, you know I'm here for you. Please, talk with me.” She pleads.

Somehow, I'm locked inside this cage

and I've tried, but I cannot fight to stay alive

falling from this edge……

“Hermione?” he finally asks. “Yes, Harry?” she replies. “Please, never leave, okay?” he tells her. “Never. I swear to you.” She assures him. He smiles weakly and sits back down and continues to stare at the stars.

I am lost to all I know

time is only the answer see

and lies the only reverie……

Harry shifts slightly in the hope of hiding his fresh tears from her eyes. “Harry,” she starts, grabbing him by the shoulder and pulling him up to face her, “don't hide from me.” She tells him sternly.

I've tried, but I cannot fight to stay alive

I am lost to all, I know……

“Don't you dare hide from me, Harry Potter.” She starts crying. All of a sudden, she felt Harry's arms wrap around her small waist. “I love you, Hermione. Never forget that.” he promises her.

Time is only the answer, see

and lies the only reverie……

“I love you too, Harry.” She said to him. He buries his face into her shoulder. “Thank you for saving my life, Hermione. Thank you so much.” He sobs into her neck. “Anytime, Harry. You know that. I'm here for you, and don't you dare forget it.” She tells him seriously. “I won't Hermione, I won't.” he smiles and they both stare at the stars.

The only reverie……
