Some additional thoughts.

Are Nanaka (sp?) or Red XII and Cait Sith around, you have not had them in the story so far? What reasons are they not around if not?

I don't know if i mentioned it before but if Materia/items work fine for Cloud's group, would they work for HP's group? If so, what will they be aloud to acess? If materia/magic work Cloud to HP, will HP magic work for Clouds group? Will it require the attachment of MP using materia to have a 'magic core' to use a wand?

enjoyed the chapter... even though it was a bit short.. in answer to your request on suggestions, i feel you should include both or atleast one of the weapons.. either emerald or ruby.. i feel ruby wud b a better choice since according to me ruby is tougher to beat than emerald.. also.. for a twist in the tale... you cud throw in sephiroth... that wud be fun.. hahah... anyways.. hope for an earlier update on the next chapter.. take care..

Nice chapter, though I wish it was longer.

Plot direction/questions that need answers before moving forward:
1) does materia/items work perfectly in HP's world as in Midgard et al? If so, then can Harry and company utilize them. If it does not work perfectly, then what problems exist (limited use even with enough MP, items not as effective, etc.)

2) based on the above answer, would the use of Life, Life2, Full-Life, Phoenix down to restore fallen heroes an option (in video game no time limit from when used to work properly. Though been two weeks from Lupin and company's death).

3) generic plot events: after a potential faceoff, groups getting to know one another, help restoring the highwind, i see a Voldemort and sephiroth hybrid and a ritual to give them two bodies. I like the concept of two epic duels at the end (Cloud and Sephiroth like in 'Advent childern' and Harry and Voldemort). I see the two groups discovering the two are back and going after them. Maybe Cloud and Harry will have to do something to the others nemesis in order to permenantly defeat them.

4) for hooking up Harry w/ Hermione (this is a H/Hr site afterall). I can see Ron bailing on them again b/c a) he does not fit in with new group and bored with them wandering aimlessly, b) realizes he is not cut out for another adventure, c) depending on point 2 is grieving and wants to be with family or relieved they are alive again and wants to spend time with them and not die himself.

5) highwind if repaired or not should not be used if V and seph stay in britain. Giant airship will attract attention if flying over London.

6) is HP magic going to effect highwind's systems like HP magic effects earth electricity?

will drop other thoughts with another review if i can think of them, these are just off the top of my head.

I've never had anything to do with the Final Fantasy series (uh, I'm not mistaking "FF" for something else, am I?) but this seems like a pretty interesting crossover and I hope you keep writing it. IMO the best way to get reviews these days is to (a) have an engaging summary so people actually read your story (b) update regularly so you don't lose readership (this doesn't mean you have to update too frequently -- it just means that when an author says "I'll update on the first of every month" and stick to that, eventually a bunch of people will start reading the story and will love it).

i've logged onto portkey after a long long time... n the 1st story i read was this... i thought that the name of the author was familiar n when u mentioned moonlit nights it hit jackpot... i used to love that story.. im sorry that ur not gonna continue it... though i sure wish that u continue with this one cuz the theme seems to be very interesting... i would love to see how the 2 worlds interact.. FFVII has been one of my fav games... and needless to say that harry potter one of my fav books... hope to read the next chapter soon...

Well, as I do love both Harry Potter and the final fantasy universe, ff7 in particular, I think this story may be very interesting.
You seem to have gotten the characters correctly, although Hermione's slightly annoying usage of the name Ronald is more in style with the movies.
And please, for the love of god, make Tifa's boobs more like in Adevent children than in the game cause.. it's just wrong. xD

Nice cliffhanger. Nice chapter and looking forward to an another. You have done a nice job capturing the personalities of the FF characters. Keep up the good work.
