Awesome story. I just read "Shadow Walks" and was interested to see what would go on with the alternate Hermione. The plot for that story was absolutely amazing! How did you come up with a theory like that? You're a very talented writer. Keep it up!!! |

Gosh, I love you Lorien!
You write some of my favourite fanfics!
Resistance, for example --- gosh, I remember reading that last year... I was so eager to see what happened that I spent half of Christmas Day locked in the study on the computer!!!
You write so eloquently and beautifully, I aspire to do the same!
You are my idol
Thanks for such wonderful work!

Oh, man. Yes, I can see why this trip would have been a turning point.
Yes, still interested! |

Yay! I've been meaning to get to this story and now, I've read the first three installments and want more! I wrote in my review of the original story that I would love to know what happened to the "other" Hermione, and here you've started the answer. I really like what you've done so far, and I'm glad you're making this longer than the 2-3 chapters you originally thought to write.
Do you have any idea how long this will be? I don't know if you plan the stories out completely or sort of wing it.
Anyway, I have enjoyed these three chapters, and my fear for Ron and Ginny is already high, since I can't recall offhand what happens to them from Shadow Walks. Will she leave this reality or just Britain? Will she rally everyone against the hated Malfoys or not, since everyone she cares about is (I think) dead after the "other" Harry passes through?
I loved Shadow Walks, but I still say that having this Hermione follow "our/that" Harry back to his reality, or having "this" Hermione be *his* Hermione just trying to ascertain who he was, would have been pretty cool plot ideas.
Thanks for your writing, and keep up the wonderful descriptions of imagery and emotions.

I like the last bit, where Ron shows solidarity with Hermione. Poor Neville -- but he was probably one of the few who could have successfully resisted Lucius. Son of famour Aurors, Pureblood, hero (and The Almost Chosen One), he'd have carried considerable clout. So he had to die, if we're to get the world we've already glimpsed.
The thing that gets me most is the speed and efficiency with which Malfoy's goon squads advance their agenda. Quite unlike Book 7, where even with an Imperio'd Minister and plenty of anti-Muggleborn sentiment, the Death Eaters never really made an effort to weed out their opposition. I doubt that Malfoy will make that mistake.
Chillingly well written, as always, lorien. Looking forward to more. |

Blast it ALL. I still don't have any review points for chapter alerts. And with DH already published, there's hardly any stories I'm ever interested in, though PK seems to think so, sending me copout chapter alerts from writers I never recognize.
Great chapter. Very sad, with Neville dead, Parvati the killer. Hmmmm. Hermione is perfecting that front of nonchalance, that 'glacial' eye contact.
Man. I can't wait to see what happens next, though it's most likely another depressing one. I wonder what you'll do with the Harry that came in Shadow Walks, we got some of Hermione's point of view, but I always wondered about Luna, and how Hermione survived that way. |

Wah! Neville!!
I was starting to think why Malfoy would start registering the muggle-born ... was he serious about the whole pureblood thing, or was it a ploy for some other advantage? Sometimes I get mixed up between various fanfic versions of Malfoy.
But I have no such reservations about his getting rid of the goblins; that gets him two benefits with the one effort. Not only does he rid his world of a non-human magical race but he also gets his hands on all that lovely loot ... and power over the financial resources of the wizarding world.
A good scene and one that showed how quickly things were going down.
The next few chapters are going to be rather sombre, aren't they? Good guys dying left and right ... and then - assuming that the Hermione here works out how to leave this dimension - you're going to leave us with at least one plane where Malfoy and the bad guys *WIN*! Ugh. |

Oh my goodness...how could you kill Neville like that??? Argh...and Parvarti!!! Grr...I really really liked this chapter. I am glad that you updated this chapter. Lovely job. I'm glad that your muse came and such. I am excited to see where the next chapter is going to go. |

Oh definitely interested It seems this world is very far gone under Malfoy's control. I doubt anyone would be brave enough to deport the goblins before they knew they had the upper hand with some secret weapon. I'm curious about the goblin talismans though. I wonder what kind of features the talismans have; e.g. power focusing, finite charges for effects, etc.
I'm glad you were able to convince your muse to get cracking but don't be too harsh on her |

Don't worry, I'm interested!!!
I have a feeling Neville's tragic death is just the beginning of what will become the stark and bleak world of this Hermione.
I'm in the middle of re-reading Shadow Walks. I still just love it!!!!
(I'm SO glad you're writing this...) |

Great chapter!
The wizarding world's descent into darkness continues apace, and on par with it, this reader's hope that somehow, in the future it will be made right again.
I know we have to connect with Shadow Walks, and after that, Hermione will start her journey through what-if country... But seeing this uncomfortable repeat of some of the lowest acts in human history, one can't help but wanting to strike back!
Perhaps after Hermione's found some place or person to belong with, she might consider returning home? In order to prevent Malfoy's taint from spreading... If dimensional travel is possible, and the department of mysteries knows about it, it won't take long before a nazist ministry of magic starts invading and plundering other realities...
My two cents, of course.

"Evil persists when good people do nothing."
As true as that is, more to the point if more good people would stand and fight evil things like this wouldn't happen.
I love Hermione's allusions to the Holocaust in this similar to the way JKR alluded how Wizarding governement had turned in book 7-- ya know, with out the debacule that book 7 was.
Your stories always give me the warm fuzzies, even when they're not supposed to.
Can I torture your muse when she refuses to co-operate as well?

As I've said before, Lorien, I'm enthralled at this entire plot! I'm so glad you've decided to explore poor "other Hermione" from Shadow Walks. Parallel universe theories and plots have always fascinated me, and I know this will be excellent! |

Poor Hermione. But what a way to stand up to Lucius. You know it's AU if he's minister, right? LOL. Really enjoying this one so far. You have a magic touch (pun intended). |
