Like there could be any other explaination. We all know this must have been what happened. Great to see it in print! Nice job. |

Hmm.
This is an interesting start..it would be interesting to see you develop it into a full fledged multi-chapter fic, because it certainly has the potential for that. |

Is this finished? I hope not. Who knows, maybe it truly went this way... |

I always felt sorry for poor Viktor Krum. I mean, his person is a girl who he hardly knows. So if it's really what they'll miss the most in the world (as it is often interpreted), then that's sort of sad. Obviously Krum doesn't have any friends at Durmstrang, his teammates don't like him, and perhaps his parents are awful, and Karkaroff only wants to use him. Makes me want to give him a hug. I mean, he was always kind to Harry and he took notice of Hermione despite having numerous girls fawning over him. Poor, poor Viktor Krum, I say. And about the selection of Ron; I do think it actually makes sense. As much as I hate Ron's character personally, Harry is not the kind of person to disgard his friendship so easily. I think their riff really hurt Harry. I can't imagine any kid living through the childhood Harry had and not coming out with insecurities. The neglect he suffered at the hands of his relatives and the lack of friends; I would not be surprised if the fight actually intensified Harry's fears of losing him, while Hermione remained safely at his side, never forcing him to contemplate life without her. It is also unclear how they were chosen, it is often assumed that magic was involved in some way, given the magically binding nature of the tournament, but there is also the chance the decision was made through observations of the champions and the professors knowledge of them, in which case there is room for error. |

aww, poor hermione. krum always ruin everything haha. please update soon |

It never made sense that Harry would miss Ron the most when he abandoned Harry for a good part of the year. Hermione is the obvious choice, she's the only person who has never left Harry's side. Great One-Shot. |

see why couldnt they make dumb krum rescue one of his friends. i mean just cause he went to the ball with her that she will be the thing he misses most. gah that is creepy. i mean hes old as ron said. i never understood about the second task.about the picking. i understand cedric and cho since they were dating. fleur her sister.. and maybe maybe ron and harry cause hes like a brother to him. but creepy krum arrhhh he a cradle robber. pedophile. man why didnt they show that harry and creepy had a talk about hermione. oh i know, they dont want to give hope to us h/hr lovers. and the give in the end of gof. damn oh well cute that this is what couldve happened. |

Hmm, that could've gotten quite interesting if both had known at that point that *she* was the one he'd miss the most and that Ron was simply a "stand-in". I rather suspect it would've made for some major changes in what followed. I wonder how picking someone else for Victor Krum would've affected matters? But that's a rabid plot bunny for someone else. |

Aww, that was a sweet little ficlet. I remember reading GoF and being upset that Harry didn't care about Hermione more. And I also remembering it bothering me that Ron was the only person who waasn't a significant other or family. But that's another story. Anyway, this was very cute indeed. |

Very sweet. A nice look into a scene we will never see but should have, as everyone who had read the books knew that it would be Hermione that Harry would miss the most. Great work |

Yes, that's what I thought after reading GoF. I thought Hermione was the thing both Harry and Krum would miss most so they gave Harry Ron to rescue instead. I thought in fact Krum was just a red herring to divert attention from H/Hr. Shows how much you can be led astray by assuming Rowling is capable of being subtle.
Nice story anyway |

Well done. It makes so much sense and explains why Hermione was there for Krum and not Harry, because we all know how that never seemed logical.
Thanks for sharing. |
