hahaha. i'm so funny. i've been looking for "I touch myself" by blondie. since i didn't have that version. but blondie never recorded it according to wikipedia. and i already have the original by Divinyls. anyways, for the fun oneshot. always nice to see others (ginny, lavendar, cho) get knocked down. although, i see they're so very close, leaving after realizing that ginny isn't so close to harry anymore. and always fun to see hermione in a non-research setting i guess. it was fun picturing her performance and harry's reaction and all.

*Laughs uproariously* Oh, that was truly funny. 'Twould seem that Ginny is hoist by her own petard, here, since it would've likely taken Harry & Hermione far longer to open up to each other if she hadn't sung that song to him. *snicker* I love the looks on the faces of Ginny and her conspirators as they realize that, far from being embarassed, Hermione's enjoying the opportunity to truly let her feelings be known to Harry and using the song to show him -Just- how much she does feel for him. The aftermath at her apartment was fitting and appropriate and I'm sure the night was just starting for them.

I can see the potential for a sequel here showing their developing intimate relationship and dealing with Ginny's attempts to -still- snag Harry and then reluctantly, and finally, looking elsewhere only to find that the "next best thing", Malfoy, is now either no longer available either or is no long interested. This might defeat her and Molly enough for her to leave for greener pastures in another country and leave the Potters alone.

Really nice one, I loved it. However, I think she shouldn't have known beforehand that they wanted to humiliate her, it would have made her show even more brilliant.

Haha! That was some story!! It was really good! I like how Ginny's plan backfired! Brilliant!!

This actually reminded me of a movie I saw a couple of months ago, P.S. I Love You. The main character's husband taunts her into getting up and singing Prince's "Get Off" in a karaoke bar. She seems pretty uptight and priggish at first, but once she gets going, she's actually pretty hot. All the men in the bar (including her husband) are going insane. Her performance doesn't end as well as Hermione's does. She falls off the stage and breaks her nose, but even that part is really funny.

I think because your story reminded me so much of the movie, your karaoke scene actually made me laugh more than you probably meant for it to, but I still really enjoyed it. (Btw, I could never sing that song in public. Hermione's braver than I am.)
