I like the story well enough but a few things are irking me. It seems Harry was married and now divorced. Yet, you make it seem as if Hermione has had no one and has been what pinning around waiting for Harry to have the courage to do something about his love for her. I don't like that. Hermione should have had a life of her own and relationships too while he was gone. I also do not want to see Hermione just taking Harry back. He has not earned it, her trust, or her love. |
Author Feedback: Not necessarily. Just because I haven't explored Hermione's life in the ten years he was gone doesn't mean she didn't have one. For all we know she may have dated (and/or had hot passionate sex) with every male in her year and the year after hers. Hell, she may have been married and divorced several times. The simple fact is we don't know. That's something for Harry to find out later on in their relationship. |

but what happpens when she learns of the fact that he was married before. i mean how can he just not tell her, how cant that not be somethign at least fight worthy (sorry, but i just want her to slap some sense into him for once lol)

Author Feedback: There will be a time for swapping stories later on, even if I don't write about it. Besides, odds are she dated her share of men during his absence. It would be rather hypocritical of her to begrudge him the same.
Yea, I may end up going back and completely re-writing it sometime. I definately agree with all my critics that Hermione gave in too easily, but that's just where my muse took me. Who knows, maybe I'll even get into where Ron fits into all of this. |

Author Feedback: No, at this point the only people in England who know anything about what Harry did in his ten years abroad are Harry himself and Iain.
Sarah left him. We don't know why, but I'm leaning towards it being her knowing that his heart will always belong to Hermione. Or somesuch. |

hey how do you promounce Iain's name, i'm having particular trouble with that oen as every time i read it i seem to stuble over it (annoys me since i'm so into the piece and that interruptes my "zen" lol)
anwyay, great chap... but i am a bit dissapointed that she responded to the kiss. i know that that soudns odd coming from a huge HHr fan, but it justfelt like it was too soon to give in, not after he left her for 10 years (six of which he was married, that's HUGE, & he never made her or ron a part of it-- then again, does she knwo he was married?)

No, I completely agree. I'm as disappointed as you are. I was originally going to have the whole 'when you left, it hurt like hell but I got over it' conversation just lead to them agreeing to try and keep being friends, but one thing led to another and.... yea.

Query, you mention the seven years missing rule for being declared dead. Just out of curiosity, how would the Potter fortune have been distributed under his will?

Author Feedback: I always figured he would name Hermione and/or Ron as his official heir(s), leaving him/her/them his title as head of Potter and Gryffindor families, the manor, and most of his fortune.
The rest would be distributed among Hogwarts, the Weasleys, the Lupins, the Order, and Sirius (if he had been pardoned by that point)
I had also always imagined that he would have Grimmauld place torn down, and possibly rebuilt. |

As I said, it is inspired by a challenge. It has elements of the sequel I'm planning, but with less action. I won't say too much, because the AUness will be revealed in future flashbacks, but it is not a direct sequel. It's like those alternate timelines Marvel keeps working in to their comics. |
