Wow so now Harrys Loaded. I mean more Loaded or whatever. But there is just one thing bothering me. How come moody gave away Mcgonagall? is he some relative?
-"man every chapter is action packed keep at it!"
the_king |
Author Feedback: Yes, I gave Harry a ridiculous amount of money. My own personal satire of all those stories where Harry has more dough than he knows what to do with, but they never tell you exactly how much. Now you know!
I do have a very detailed history of Moody's life, mostly because I used to RP as him a great deal, featuring assorted others, and I was planning to include it somewhere. However, since I haven't been able to figure out how as of yet, I'll give you a sneak preview.
In my stories, Mad-Eye was born in 1934. He had a very interesting childhood, and is Irish if you want to know. On the Hogwarts train, September 1 1945, he met the people who would be his best friends for the next seven years (in one case) and the next fifty-two and counting (in the other). These two were Iain Menzies and Minerva Mcgonagall, respectively.
So, to answer your question, they were the very best of friends. When they were at school all three of them were more or less social misfits, so it was them against the rest of the school. Can't really think of anyone else Minny would want to walk her down the aisle, with the possible exception of Iain. Of course he was en absentia at the time, but that's another story for another day.
And don't you worry about a thing, I have no intentions of stopping this. Until I reach the inevitable end of course, but there's already a sequel working in the back of my mind. But you didn't hear that from me. <.< |

Author Feedback: Thanks winky! You know, it's people like you that are one of the biggest reasons I keep writing; you actually enjoy my work!
To answer your question, there are several trains of thought on the subject. The first is that all works of literature are already written, and they're just waiting for the right vessel to commit them to paper, in which case I was meant to produce this piece of work. The other largest is that there is a magical closet in an alternate dimension, and every now and then it opens up and drops dirty socks of inspiration through the space-time continuum and into my head. Take your pick.
The quotes are easy; Wikiquote and the small mountain of books I read.
I'll update as soon as I can. In the meantime, I suggest taking a look at some of my other stuff posted on here and ff.net; maybe youll find something else you like. |

Well that was original. I mean having a gun that can desintegrate a Dementor with only one shot. But there was something questionable here. Harry and Ron were both trained in defence against the dark arts they were also trained members of the D.A. plus in the 5th book they took down a dozen deatheaters so how come they were easily overpowered? Second if the ministry of magic was attacked then there should be some Aurors or other wizards there to help right? And one more thing Kingsley was one of the best Aurors so how come he was easily killed?
-saying sorry if i had to many questions
the_king ? ? ? |
Author Feedback: *bow* I aim to please.
All your points are true. However, Dementors were not the only factor to be considered. Not only were there an unknown number of them, but there were also an unknown number of Death Eaters milling around in an unfamiliar area. It's a strategic nightmare. And both times when Harry was captured, they had been taken by surprise. The area is already infested with Dementors, so they wouldn't notice another few sneaking up on them.
And to your second; that's the question, isn't it? Death Eaters had also invaded, so we can infer that they had taken over the major defence centres (such as the MLE and Auror department). That would be our best guess, although we really don't know.
Kingsley was killed for two reasons. The first was that it was a surprise attack. He had focused all of his energy at that moment to warn Moody, which left him wide open to a sneak attack. Everyone has their off days, you know. The second reason was that nobody else does it. Just about every other story I've read has had Kingsley live and become Minister. I wanted to break the mould. Dare to be different, as my art teacher used to say.
Oh don't worry about all the questions. It makes it that much more interesting to read reviews. |

are you russian? cause if you are that's so awesome. I am too. |
Author Feedback: Canadian, actually. My mastery of Russian comes from a combination of Wikitionary and an online language translator.
In case you couldn't tell, the word 'mastery' in the above sentence is meant to be sarcastic. *whisper* My Russian isn't very good. |

Feel sorry for Zabini? No way. It's basically a slap on the wrist, if Harry can't kill him, isn't it? Azkaban for life would have been the right punishment, or death.
As for the dream and the Tower...I'm a bit confused about that, but I'm sure things will get clearer as you keep posting new chapters. |
Author Feedback: Harry won't kill him. Even if he was able to, we all know he wouldn't. But that doesn't mean he has to go easy. But what they will be going through is bascally a trial by combat, an antiquated ruling where the victor is deemed to be right and the loser is punished. I pretty much just wanted a good reason to have Harry kick Zabini's ass back to the stone age.
The reason I almost feel sorry for Zabini: He (almost) did a great deal of physical and psychological harm to the person Harry cares most for in the world. Harry is extremely powerful, and does not have an enormous amount of control over his power. Whatever happens to Zabini in that duel, it will not be pleasant.
The dream is your standard deal; he's afraid he can't protect her. It is derived from a number of places: The main basis is taken from the late Richard Bachman's 'The Long Walk.' The black-and-white-but-for-some-very-specific-details element is from Steven Spielberg's 1993 epic 'Schindler's List,' a phenomenal movie that everyone and their mother should see. Actually, not their mother; it is pretty violent. |

Sorry, "The seventh game of the 1972 summit series" does need explanation if you're British! (Thank you wikipedia) I'm not a sports fan, and ice hockey is a minority interest in the UK. Nevertheless, an entertaining story so far. |
Author Feedback: Well it shouldn't! Of course I can say that, since it's one my country's proudest moments.
For those of you who don't know, and wind up reading this reply, the Summit Series is a hockey championship between Canada and Russia (who was still the USSR in two of the three Series to date). There were three, in 1972, 1974, and 2007, although the last was called the 2007 Super Series. It was an eight game series, and the two teams pushed it to the eighth. Near the end of the third period, the score was tied. if the Canadians didn't score, the Soviet would win the series based on number of goals.
Then, with thirty-four seconds left in the game, Paul Henderson scored the winning goal in what is undoubtedly the most famous moment in Canadian sports, and arguably in international ice hockey (even topping Wayne Gretzky's record-breaking 894th regular season goal).
And this means nothing to so many of you, it's depressing.
I'm sorry, but this is a really big deal for me. And Canadians in general. |

that was a very informative start and like in D.H. Lupin and Tonks got hitched and Good twist when you wrote that Lupin was now officially the guardian of Harry.
B.T.W.
I was also Pissed at the H/G and R/Hr ending
Saying nice job for now:
-the_king |
Author Feedback: Why thank you king. Never fear, the twists will continue! Of course I touch on some very nasty topics, so I wouldn't blame you if you stopped reading. My style is not for everyone.
Puke buckets are, as always, located to your left.
Self-depreciation aside, I am very glad that you are enjoying the beginnings of my story. I hope you will stick with it as far as you are able, and that you will enjoy the rest of the trip. |

IT would be funny if Zabini begged to be AKed because of what harry is likely to due. |
Author Feedback: I highly agree. *grins devilishly at the possibilities*
But he won't, I'm afraid. That damn pureblood pride is going to get in the way. Ah well, maybe in another story... |

so far i really like the story, but when was the first time she was almost raped? |
Author Feedback: Diagon Alley, chapter six. I may have been too subtle about it, but that's what I had intended.
I just want to make it clear, however, that none of that will ever take place in one of my stories. You are more than welcome to infer it happening, no country in the world I know of has a law restricting thoughts, but it will never be my intent for it to happen.
Sorry if I went on a bit of a rant there, but I just felt I had to say it. I am very glad you like my story so far kaylee, despite my penchant for the provocative |

How can "Mister Sirius Black"'s will be executed if the Ministry knows he is alive? Nor is it clear whether he is pardoned or not. Kinda weird if you ask me, not that you did of course.
|
Author Feedback: Now now, don't be bitter about it.
I can answer both questions with three words: They don't know. The Department of Mysteries is always portrayed as a department that answers only to themselves, and often keep their secrets (their mysteries, if you'll pardon the pun) to themselves. So they would not have revealed Sirus' existence to anyone, which means only a handful of people even know he's still alive. Why they wouldn't report his escape however, is more of a mystery (again, pardon the pun). |

|
I find it difficult to believe they blind you without warning and without that being part of the practice for the test. Perhaps an Aurors test, sure, but for normal apperation? I don't buy it.
"You have not seen me, but for seven years I have been watching you." Sorry, that is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Where was he when Harry's life was threatened time and time again? Why is this particular dementor encounter more special than all of the others?
How could Harry not be prepared for dementors when he has a warning that they would be there?
|
Author Feedback: The concept is that they need to be able to apparate under any condition. If I had really been on the ball, I would have included meteorogical factors as well. Alas.
Alex's very nature is enigmatic. I'm sure you didn't need me to tell you that, but his motives are not revealed. I can tell you that his assignment was to protect Harry against the very worst injuries while he was off the Hogwarts grounds. I can also tell you that his methods are usually subtle. Acting out in the open as he does is very unsual for him, and is a sign that something is changing. It can be extrapolated that he had a hand in rescuing Harry from most serious incidents (such as the dementor attack in OotP), but he is not infallible.
This encounter is no more or less special than any that has come before it. However they are not gifted with the time to fight them all off, since there are an unknown number of Death Eaters who are likely following them.
If you're referring to in the ministry, he had no warnings. He encountered some before, but he would not have any idea were more might be hiding. If you mean in the alley, then he had absloutely no warning whatsoever. The attack on Alex's car was unexpected, and could have been caused by anything. |

Sneaking around doesn't seem like it is a very good idea without a bigger plan. Usually the biggers plans turn out to be really stupid, but without a plan you know it is a plan to fail.
Dumbledore telling others of the Horicrux is odd (as is your pointing out about the lack of a signature). If he was going to do that, why not tell Harry so the burden would not be quite so burdensome.
Great so far. |
Author Feedback: I'm going to assume you're talking about the HHr relationship here. Their reasoning for sneaking around is that it will likely alienate Ron and Ginny. For all their flaws, Ron has still been through a great deal with them and Ginny is one of Hermione's remarkably few friends. Ostracising them is not something they particularly want to do.
Keep in mind that Dumbledore didn't even tell Harry about the horcruxes until sixth year. This is a man who keeps his cards very close to his chest. The other factor is when Mad-Eye and Minerva were told. Dumbledore has a portrait in Minerva's office, which would presumably retain Dumbledore's memories along with his personality, so it is not all that unlikely that he would have revealed his secret posthumously. |

I'm not sure there are many Pontiacs in London. It cannot be a standard one since they drive on the wrong side. Sure, American companies do make and sell such cars, but they are not very popular.
Sleeping in a room with a spying portait doesn't seem like a lot of fun.
|
Author Feedback: Oh goody, this again. As I have stated numerous times to date, I don't believe it matters. I am a Canadian, and I will not apologize for it, and as such have next to no knowledge of British culture. I will not apologize for that either. Frankly, I do not believe that the kinds of cars the characters drive, or the foods they eat etc., matters much in this medium. You read a story for the plot and the characters, not to see if the author screwed up on a single minute detail about the culture, which he would hardly be expected to know in the first place. I will apologize for going off on a rant there, but starting at ch. 11 I have a britpicker to help me (Thank again Coulsdon Eagle!)
No, probably not. But it's the room he slept in the last time he was there, so it's just easier that way. |

The whole stay-at-Dursleys-because-you-will-be-protected-for-a-few-more-days thing in DH was just stupid. Perhaps, just perhaps, it makes sense to stick around if you get protection for a year (though personally I don't buy it--Harry seemed pretty vulnerable even with this blood ward) but for a few more days? It is just stupid, and obviously creates a window of vulnerability. |
Author Feedback: Well keep in mind that this is told from Harry's perspective, if not his point of view. There could be all manner of reasons why he has to stay longer, but Remus either doesn't know them or can't talk about them.
To use literary terminology, this is a third person limited-omniscient story. By its very nature, the reader is not inteneded to know everything. |
| |
Nothing further to say at this point just setting up to get chapter alerts without having to scroll through many pages. Update soon please. |
Author Feedback: I'll try to oblige. Chapter twelve is in the works, but I've hit a spot of writer's block unfortunately. I should have a one-shot or two coming out in the meanwhile however. |
