Wow! I must say this is one of the best fanfics I ever read! I am a huge James Celesca fan!

Aw I loved this story!!! I'll have to go read it on fanfiction.net but this was one of my favorite stories on this sites, one of the very few canon compliant stories that still had H/Hr and made it believable. And I loved how James and Celesca were almost exactly like Harry and Hermione. I'll have to go look it up on fanfiction.net.

I dont feel bad about cheating and skipping chapters when reading fanfiction so forgive me for my sketchy knowledge of James in your story.


I found it quite endearing when James was questioning Hermione and Celesca about the spell. Sounds just like something Harry might have done to a nearly incapacitated Hermione. And it was certainly enjoyable, thank you!

I think it's safe to say those recs can stay, however we (you and us) resolve our concerns about Tapestry. Our recommendation criteria's more relaxed than our fanfic hosting one.

This has to do with the question on whether this story breaks PK's rules, particularly the "story should end with H/H being up together, ie, not married to R & G" one.

Finally found time to finish this, all the while not knowing you are the author of "The only way"! Anyway, hope it's not too late to leave a review...

1. I for one, can live with the idea of HHr not being together at the end of story (room for imagination makes it sweeter! ), and this is one of the few stories that ends that way. remains one of my favourite one shots, but only if I regard it as an one chapter-ed fic(yes, I did read chapter 2 when it came out, if you get what I mean )
2. Personally I'd love to see that not only the epilogue be ignored but also the H/G element in HHr fanfics. The more I look at HBP and DH, the more damage I think they do to the characters.
3. Really not too fond of the J/C pairing for some reason, I guess I just love Hermione too much and no one gets to beat her! Could do with more HHr moments but it's hard to do so from James' view anyway.
4. As others have mentioned, this is the first HHr fic that follows canon INCLUDING epilogue but not (really) an affair fic, that task itself is hard enough and I thought you did the story justice. This story stands out on its own in that category shall I say. I'll give the ending 7 out of 10, I dont quite like the explanation for some of the canon events but I do love the spirit within. That said, my fav moment of the story (also the soppiest IMO) was:

They smiled knowingly at each other.
"Never apart, remember?" said Aunt Hermione cryptically. ---- Tapestry, chapter 15

Together or not, married or not, that phrase alone was enough for me

Review for the first 4 chapters... I have to say good story, well written and filled with subtle hints, which I like most~ More and more affair! fics nowadays, can\'t say I really like them but (assuming this\'s going to be affair-ish) this one looks promising to me! Nice read~

The ending left me a little cold, I must admit, however the quality of your writing more than made up for this minor disapointment. Your style is really wonderful- so wonderful in fact that I became invested in a pairing NOT h/hr, for whom I started reading this piece! Fabulous work on the whole; thoroughly enjoyed.

I enjoyed the story. Really good original cast and great HH ending.

I loved this story... It was canon and HHr, and I loved the fact you didn't deviate from that. You even gave an explanation for all the HHr scenes and the OBHWF scenes as HHr. I loved it!

This is definitely a good story, The plot is very intriguing and i found myself gasping and laughing out loud.
The only thing i think would have made me appier was if we had gotten to see more of Harry and Hermione. I really love Celesca, and i think James is fantastic, but i was expecting a H/Hr story... not to worry though, this was still great.
Althought the ending isn't quite what i had in mind, it's still very good, and as long as thy're soul mates and they know it, it's fine by me. That's the only thing i ask for, really. And i love the whole story behind them, it's very, very nice and this whole think fits Canon so well that it really makes up for it.

That's a really interesting take on Scorpius. Octavian seems very Dumbledore-like... I would say to avoid mirroring too much, but you've done a really good job of keeping things fresh so far so I'm not really worried how the rest of the fic will play out.

Haha, is her aunt Luna? I like your characters - they mirror some of the old cast, but they\'re different enough to be really interesting.

There are a lot of great points about this story.

However, one thing I need to object strongly to. This is Portkey and the rules state that the story MUST end H/Hr.

If this were any other site, I would be praising you. However, I must say that I am disappointed.

this is a good story i really enjoyed it and i like the idea about harry and hermione
