Hi Janie, great story. Short but sweet. I read it a few weeks ago, but...well...didn't review.
I think I'm in love with embarassed!Harry. I love how he stammers out an explanation of the circle charm. *sigh*
About our engagement...look, it wouldn't have worked out. We're both heterosexual females living in different time zones. You're married, I'm engaged. You've got kids, and I...feed a stray cat that lives under my house. Our lives just aren't compatible. I hope this doesn't come as a shock (given the fact we haven't spoken since HBP came out). But...I'm sorry. I just can't commit right now.
But I will keep re-reading your stories, and hopefully I'll remember to review them when I do.

Just quickly I never really gave this the review it deserved, course I\'m to sleep to do it justice now but I wanted to wish you a very Happy New years and thought I should cover all my bases. Although light and sweet this was so much realer and deeper then most most fluffs. As always they seemed in character not as so many authors who try to hard to force them to H/Hrdom Just really well done and lovely.
I love the reference to Hermione\'s first hug of Harry in the first book, I always wonder why that is not more important to more people.

Author Feedback: HAPPY NEW YEAR too!!! It's actually Tuesday night - oops, nope - hang on - it's 12.49am according to my computer so it's actually Wednesday morning now! Went and saw National Treasure 2 tonight and really enjoyed it (pure entertainment - love it!). Going to see "I Am Legend" on Thursday morning - just love the movies! Would like to see "Atonement" too - have you seen that? Good grief - waffling about movies - enough already!
Thank you for your lovely words about my little Christmas story - I was even rather pleased at how I "grounded" it, even though it was short and sweet (wouldn't've put it up if I hadn't been satisfied with it!). That first time Harry was hugged by anyone has always "sat on the shelf" in my Imagination Dept - just waiting for the right time!
I actually had some this afternoon - which is why I'm here, poking around at Portkey! I just love that since I'm on holidays it doesn't matter - I can always sleep in! Yay!!
Okey dokes - I'm still tappiong away at Chapter 20 - it's nearly done, thank heavens! We have so many drop ins because the boys are on holidays too that I don't get very much uninterrupted time and when I'm writing, I need uninterrupted time to make sure my thoughts stay on track!!
I hope you and yours had a lovely New Year's Eve - we watched the fireworks of course, I just love those! I've been on the harbour once for fireworks and it's totally awesome!

So glad my little bit of Christmas fluff slotted into that perfect little reading slot! And yep, Baileys IS yummy! (I actually tried eggnog once and I'm afraid I didn't like it which is why Harry and Hermione didn't get it! ) Speaking of Baileys, I tried the one with the hint of caramel a month or two ago and it is just DIVINE!!!)
And thanks yeah I was rather pleased with the hug/circle/ring idea I have to say... (Although I'm still in awe of that fantastic door of yours!! Sheer brilliance and so funny!!)
I did actually read your review on Boxing Day when I snuck in to Portkey very briefly during the lovely chaotic festivities going on here at the time, but I didn't have time until now to reply to everyone - but we had a truly wonderful day with perfect weather (warm - but not hot! - blue skies, gentle breeze ::sigh: We had family and friends over and lots of "drop ins" - it was just brilliant! Played water volley ball with a HUGE ball - soo funny! The table tennis table got a good work out and a lot of us were busy playing a board game called (somewhat unfortunately) "Smart Ass" (although we pronounce it "arse" which probably makes it sound worse!) - it's just so much fun and we had everyone having a go!! Well, it's now Friday morning, all the relatives have gone, I did about 6 loads of washing yesterday (equals a stack of ironing sometime very soon! lol!) But for now, after this, I'm off to the Nook! Yay!!!

Janie!!! What a lovely Chrissie *giggles and bounces* surprise!
'Tis Christmas Eve, and the stockings are hung on the TV with care . . . Here I am--hunched over my laptop (which won't let me sign in but at least allows me to read, unlike Wonky) in the dead of night in the corner of our motel room while the kidlets slumber a few feet away and the snow falls outside--feeling all warm and fuzzy after this wonderful story! I loved the whole idea of the ring and the hug and . . . well, I loved everything about this, actually.
As always, your descriptions are marvelous--the "friendly door," the charm bracelet, and the magic "ring" charm. Harry and Hermione's relationship seems so natural here, so right. And the ending? *sighs happily* Others can dream of sugarplums. . . me? I know what I'm going to dream about!

Well, Christmas no longer - thank heavens!
