I liked it a lot. But you would just stop it at a cliffhanger like that, leaving me to wonder and getting my brain working. Oh well, that's probably what stories like this are for, and I do love them dearly.

Ohh, a quite poignant one-shot there and one that works quite well. I suspect he's going to go through an orgy of self-recrimination if/when she and the baby do die and it will not be pleasant for him or those around him. I most certainly hope he's got friends who can help him through it as he's -really- going to need them.

I liked the simplicity of your style. For being unbetaed it wasn't bad, but you were a little overenthusiastic with the comma usage. Other than that I really enjoyed your story!
