Oh, Anna, that was just beautiful. Really, really touching and just what we all need right now.
The title alone \"Finding Jane\" drew me in like suction. How nice to know that Hermione Jane Granger was there all along, if only in spirit and will.
Everyone else can have their Hermione Jeans, I don\'t even know who that person is.
Hermione Jane will live forever in our hearts. |
Author Feedback: Hi Malinda! ^_^ Happy you liked it.
I suppose no matter what anybody said about the switch from Jane to Jean--how it doesn't matter, I still really couldn't completely resign myself to the change. In a way, it's rather symbolic, isn't it? A stroke of unwitting genius in JKR's part, because I certainly feel that Jane would've chosen Harry. Jean just sort of stepped in and... well, decided she would let Hermione fall in love with Ron. So Hermione will always be Jane to me. |

This is such a fantastic piece, dear. Not that we would expect any less from such a talented author as yourself. |

Can i rate this story twice? because i believe i just did. well, this is the most make sense story of after book 7 that i know. I thought exactly that is what's going on with Harry's marriage. You brilliantly write it down. Their character is so fit to the story. I wish to print this story and stick it to the last page of book 7. It almost like cannon no one will notice the difference, i hope.
And Hermione's marriage? well I always thought that she and Ron are incompatible and Hermione is not as permissive as Harry. While Harry more or less accept Ron's behavior (also to the extent, Ginny's) I think Hermione will not. It's a shame it took 19 years. |

I have not read Deathly Hallows and this is the first fic I've read ever since the book came out. Though I have not read DH, I basically know how the story turns out because I've been reading Portkey forums and essays/reviews from other sites. I think your story is realistic; it feels realistic, and my heart is bittersweet for it. I look forward to reading Part 2.
BTW, I absolutely love Forever Knight, but I can't read it anymore after one reading because I just cried and cried and cried like a baby. The story is just so heartbreakingly beautiful. |

Nice story. I like how you drew parallels between the Harry Potter characters and Emma characters. I love both books and it was intriguiing to see them brought together in that light. Very good writing. |

It's nice to see that you have not lost your touch. This was a beautiful story. It amazes me how you have captured the essence of these two characters so honestly.
Divorce is an extremely difficult time in a person's life. I'm speaking from a "first person" perspective, unfortunately. But a lesson that I learned is that when it's over, it's over. There's no sense in "beating the dead horse." I was fortunate however, to have married my best friend and we have remaind so to this day. I suppose that is one reason why this story resonated with me so. The other is that you are, and continue to be an exceptional writer.
We all now know the outcome of the tales of Harry Potter but isn't it tantalizing that JKR has given us 19 years in which to exercize and interject our own imagination and creativity into her amazing little world!
Thank you once again for sharing your talent with us.

I really think that you got the voice of older!Hermione down pat. I also love that you didn't feel the need to rush them into some hot and sweaty lovin' (not that I'd complain about getting well-written smut, mind you ); the pace really suits the situation, I think. |

I don't get it. Hermione didn't read the book at 9, or didn't feel like it meant something which her mother thinks of as reading.

Ok that was just sooooo good. BRilliant! I do hope you make a part 2 of this. I've only read pride and prejudice but now I KNOW i HAVE to read EMMA. I love this. |

I love Jane Austen. She is really one of the most amazing authors of all time. When reading Emma, I didn't think of Harry Potter but you really fit everything in so well. I love it! |

Oh, I really liked this. It made me very sad, given what JKR actually did with her characters, but I think you made a nice *story* (not just a polemic) about what might have been, what was potentially there to be developed, the opportunity she missed--alas! Forever alas!
