Awww. Poor Harry. I can imagine him scared like that at 12, but not really wanting other people to know.

Yeah, that damn MN crowd. I think they pressured JK into it. I think they've all got a "thing" for "certain red-heads" and wanted Ginny paired with Harry even though there's no possible explanation that would justify Harry and Ginny being together. Where as Harry and Hermione hold a vastly larger connection (to each other) and appeal. MNet was just acting on a 3 year olds mentality of not getting what they wanted when the stories weren't going the way they wanted them to and probably threaten JK's kids or something. Anyhoo, this was a cute one-shoot and is very plausible for an actual scene with in the book that never made it to the editor.
I still have not seen *anything* in the books that would give reason to Harry and Ginny ending up together. The only thing is that Lily and Ginny both have red hair and I don't think an entire relationship should be centered on hair.
(Okay need to stop this.) Kudos to you for this nice little sidetrack. A little break in the current world of fanfic about how Harry and Hermione are now as apposed to how they started. You two keep up the great work, 'kay!

Very well written, as always! I guess it would just have been too easy to have her wake up and to have the story go the *right* way!

This piece is rather lovely. Poor Harry, he tries so hard for a twelve-year-old.

That was certainly an enjoyable little snippet from you mad, although I would almost hazard a guess that your getting soft on us. Maybe 'soft' is the wrong word, but your stories seem to be lacking in the speed, swiftness and violence of action that you used to incorporate within them.

Even still I can see where a a bad day could arouse the need for something too good to be true, but too horrible not to happen would arrise.

wow. that was definitely a scene that should have been in the book. i liked how you wrote harry's character, his words and mind seemed so simple and appropriate for his age. it was a great one shot and i did enjoy it. =)

That was beautifull, a wonderfull little story. I always felt that in CoS, Harry was much more worried about Hermione than Ron. Just one of many things in books 1-5 that made me an H/Hr shipper. Shame Rowling didn't notice them.

This makes a good addition to your collection. I love all your stories but I'm a little concerned about War of Shadows as you haven't updated on ages. I hope you haven't abandoned it

Absolutely brilliant I really do wish that you were the one who had written all of the HP books as the result would have been much better..

That was so sweet. I love the connection to sleeping beauty and the innocence of the characters.

I agree with you. This scene *was* in COS. JKR just didn't include it because she was furious that Harry did something that was completely in character but not in her "master" plan.

I've always thought the hug Hermione gives Harry at the end of COS was put in by a *cough* delusional *cough* editor after the copy went to print.

A beautiful little snippet, there, and a most poignant one. It definitely has the proper feel of something that very well couldn've happened and probably should have happened.

This is a lovely, poetic little piece. I like your descrition of petrification; I always thought of them as frozen like stone, but this is a nice idea. I also like your description of Colin and how you introduced Harry. Harry's confession is lovely (if sad, poor boy) and I loved the line "But...I'd have rather died than not met you...and Ron." That just seemed very Harry to me.

The analogy of the fairy tale was very nicely done, though I think you mean his heart raced 'inexplicably', not 'inexplicitly'. I was so sorry for him when it didn't work, even though I knew it couldn't (or the book would have ended much differently!). The last paragraph is awesome. Beautiful.

I very much enjoyed this story. Thank you.
Author Feedback: Like I said, any errors are mine, so yeah, I probably used the wrong word. Thanks

Very good. I really enjoy your little scenes, weather they be actual cannon or stolen moments from your own fics. I would love to see more. Maybe a lot from HBP? You can turn the tide, at least a little bit, before DH completely screwed up the whole mess. As good as DH is technically- on par thus far with OotP, JKR is taking great lengths to ram it into the readers heads that Hermione and Ron are getting together. Every other simile seems to concern them kissing, and I just read the part when Harry and Ron have "The Talk" and Harry passionately maintains that Hermione is like a sister to him! Wasn't HBP's torturous wink-wink obvious bludgeoning enough! You offer a creative salve to JKR's burn.

The most interesting aspect of this fic is the treatment of Hermione's petrification. It was never clear in the book or in the movie what exact condition she and the others were in. Is petrification like death? Obviously not, since Hermione and the others could have been revived with mandrakes. I never understood how a direct look from the Basilisk instantly killed Moaning Myrtle but never petrified her. Only those who got an INDIRECT look were petrified.

By turning the condition into a coma-like state, like Petrificus Totalus- you add another layer of consciousness and action to it which serves the character better. Hermione is mostly forgotten in the second half of the book- you put her back into action . . . even if she can't move! and allow more layers and colors to be developed between her and Harry. I don't have to have a BA and 10 years dramaturgy experience to know this was an excellent dramatic and literary tool.

I don't know if you received any of my e-mails with the Kincaid family crest, if you liked it or not. If you received more than one E-mail, I sent them several times through both of my E-mail addresses because I think my e-mail is just having problems trying to send things to yours. Seems to be my lot in life!

Ahhhhh Sleeping Beauty or even Snow White. That was a cute ficlet. I like that Harry showed affection and devotion towards Hermione so early on. It shows that they should be together forever!
