Great story so far, Carla! I think there should be more Ron/Luna. And nice H/H bit too, with the dancing. Ron was a bit of a coward during the party. It'll be interesting to see who he ends up talking to about it.  |

Poor Hermione. I don't know why, as I don't even like R/Hr together, but I was feeling sorry for both of them and had this strange urge to scream, "No, you dolts, don't argue!" I expect it is because it was her birthday.

i hear you-- but i don't feel bad because they were arguing, per se, or because it was her birthday (she didn't take it that hard, if you ask me). i think it's more the fact that they were doing SO well so far... which, of course, mostly had to do with the fact that they had not been in the same room since noon, but damn, they could've set a record for longest time without arguing, ever insert collective groan from their ever-expectant audience, heh.
i'm glad you liked the h/hr moments! i'm trying to make things as subtle as possible so first i have to establish that their friendship IS there, and strong as ever. so you'll be getting a lot of friendshippy fluff before the line actually starts getting fuzzy between them.

Goodness. Ron's incipient jealousy about his pretend girlfriend and Dean and then his picking an argument with his non-pretend gf regarding their apparent lack of a personal life at home seemed to crystallize things very clearly.
I really like how you're allowing things to devolve and evolve here. Wonder if Ron'll make it to his new hiding place before he runs into Dean and Luna.

Author Feedback: haha! well, in the next chapter we skip a few weeks so i'll tell you this: ron DID find a new hiding place. he stayed in there for the remainder of the afternoon. believe me, his mother had a few choice words for him, when she found him holed up there after all the guests were gone.
i'm very glad you liked this-- ron's definitely starting to have issues in his deal with luna, these issues are bugging him and his distress over them is starting to stream into his relationship with hermione. at the moment it's barely there, but it's a start. so i'm really happy you're liking it so far. i hope you'll stick with me for the rest! thanks for reading and reviewing. |

Another very good chapter. The restaurant scene was hysterical, yet moving at the same time. Ron's maturing has nothing to do with being housebroken, and his beginning to think things out is really well done.

I'm coming late to this story, so I hope I don't rehash anyone's reviews.
A very solid beginning, you set the stage nicely with everything. It was really amusing to see Ron just sitting there as the freight train that is Luna came barreling down on top of him and him getting swept up into it without really a clue.
It was fun watching Ron's thoughts about Hermione compared to those about Luna, and how he was setting the stage for this from the start.

I do like how long this chapter was. I don't mind the Ron/Hr moment, because this is a R/LL fic, which is great because there isn't much on here. I like how Ron is thinking about Luna in bits and pieces even though he's with Hermione. Great job. Lovely little job. |
