That's one of the best one-shots I've ever read, amazing job.

Bittersweet fic, it\'s really nicely done! With this fic you can technically put it in DH, just before the epilogue(though I am definitely NOT fond of that crapilogue) and wouldn\'t contrast with canon.
I love it when Hermione and Harry both admitted that they had been thinking what went wrong in their relationship. In DH, I couldn\'t see it in Harry\'s head, nor could I sense it in Hermione\'s words and action.
Another thing that I love is the \"noble\" act by Harry...again. Many people are tired of it, but I thought coming from Harry it is just kind of norm, wouldn\'t you think?
And that kiss really swept me off my feet! That was the one kiss I was hoping for but would never materialise in canon
Keep up the great work and write more soon~

Stay away from the crapilogue and go towards them fighting off this 'nobility' of having Hermione stay with Ron and have them come to realize they need each other before any 'affair' needs to happen. And don't leave it a one-shot, please!

Short, but poignant, a very good read. My compliments.

I never seem to get how telling the truth translates to the betrayal of a friend, nor why two people should (or have a right to) sacrifice their future to make a third person happier - maybe - in the short term - if everything goes well. It's like Ron deserves happiness more than Harry or Hermione, for some reason.

Still I appreciate it's one of those fatalities that happen on their own and there's nothing one could do to change it afterwards. Harry and Hermione made their choice to effectively give up on each other during the hunt, their talk here is just closure.

The story does not end H/Hr, quite the opposite, is it compliant with portkey/elder wand rules? If it is, barring new and better entries you're getting my vote.

ooh I LOVE this! It's my fave post DH fic I've read on here, this conversation is exactly how they'd feel I reckon. I love the dialogue it's realistic and in character and they didn't say anything random that spoiled it for me like some fics do I'm so glad they got one snog in for gods sake...why couldn't jk have just given us ONE? Just one wee snog! Not a one did she give us! So thanks for filling the gap!

it's been my experience on portkey that 'g' rated fics are cheesy and predictable. you just shattered my statement. excellently written. i truly enjoyed it all. the way that harry and hermione tripped over each otehr's words... it all just fit so perfectly - even down to the sacrifice. well done.

wow...this is really great...i absolutely love the dialogue, and it is really well written...i think having the confession at the begining is a really interesting way to start...i hav to admit i hope this develops intoa happy-ending kind of story...the title is also vey apt...it implies a lot of things about the characters, and their romantic possibilities...hope to see more soon
