I love me some affair! fic I kinda liked the angsty ending suprisingly - but even as you waltzed off to witness protection, I was already imagining that it would all happen again after the obliviation anyway. Because it's inevitable!! U know this, I know this - JKR...? not so much. But hey, that's what fan fic is for

I PREFER THE SECOND ENDING, BUT THE FIRST IS PROBABLY WHAT WOULD HAVE UNFORTUNATELY HAPPENED. EVEN IF THE SECOND DID HAPPEN, I DOUBT THAT H AND Hr WOULD HAVE RAN AWAY. THEY'RE NOT THE TYPE.

Much, Much Much better ending. The first ending almost made me cry it was so sad, so horrible that they decided to erase their memories than just run away. And then you made them do just that, and I'm glad this was a much happier ending. Thank you

Let's see, about forgiving you...well, of course this is far better. Yet, I don't think they would run away. They would face the wrath of the WEasleys, but not run away. So, yes, I forgive you, but I think the perfect ending would be them getting together but not running away. I think I'd like an ending with them not getting together, to not break the WEasleys' hearts, and yet not obliviating themselves. Maybe a piece where they come to an understanding that being married to Ginny and Ron will never lessen their love for each other, because what they have is true love and what they have with the Weasleys is not, anything, but not the coward way out of it by obliviating themselves that you proposed us in the previous ending. Sorry for the harshness, but I'm just honestly telling how I feel about the previous ending.

Obliviating themselves? Really? come on...they are far braver than that. They would live with the regret, but would never deny what they felt. Not this way.

I dunno. Yep I think so. Now I can have fun mulling over which ending might make more sense and for what reasons.

See, I think this one would. I was thinking after reading the other ending that even with a Memory Charm, if Harry and Hermione are meant to be, then wouldn't it eventually happen again? Especially if they had no memory of the ensuing pain and confusion that their closeness had brought them the first time around... Well, by golly what if that story was linear rather than alternative endings and we all just didn't know it?

Very sensitively and beautifully handled, Bingblot. I am an HHr fan, having long since quit the RHr party, but I can't deny that JKR, as the author, has chosen to develop the second pairing in the end and not the first. This fic, I thought, with its subtle nuance, was a perfect, perfect way of how it COULD happen (despite the infamous Epilogue From Hell), and I appreciated that you didn't have them do anything out of character or proclaim years of unrequited love (as in so many other fics), but rather, a realization of what they must have been feeling all along.

I'm off to the next chapter. Cheers!

Ah, I liked the first ending better for some reason. It wasn't a happy ending, but the first ending seemed more realistic in a way. Good job nevertheless.
