Wonderful. No rush to sex or any other such thing. It was about friendship, love and caring. One of the hallmarks of the Harry & Hermione relationship. I see by the publication date of this fic that I\'m a bit behind the times, but it\'s quite excellent.

JKR made such amistake with this scene, It could have chanegd all of the chemistry and IMHO would have made the ending that much more emotional, with the Huroxes the hallows and harry's sacrifice in the forest!
But we aren't her so... we have fan fiction and the hope that maybe... maybe she'll look into a few of these and reaccess her views!

Author Feedback: I'm glad this little piece continues to mean something to you. And yes, an update for Growing Up Granger should be forthcoming sometime this weekend. I'm actually working on it as we speak...
Cheers!

that was so beautiful. and so true to Jo's writing style, and true to the books if she'd actually paid attention to her own canon. omg. I think i just shed a tear. |
Author Feedback: Thank you! Glad I could move you in some way. |

Hey there Matt!
I know you said you don't read alot of other fan-fic but have you read "The tent" by Wilkes?
I thought your story would have been the perfect beginning to that story.
I'm actually very sad this is only a one-shot
I would have liked to see more...
Is bearings also a year 7 fic? Because if it is has this same level of beauty and heart, I might have to read it....
OK this review is dragging on a lttle bit and i'm sorry about that, so I'll just say what i need to about your (sadly only a) one-shot...
It is beautiful, honest, heartfelt, warm, emotionally stirring and i love it so much I think I'll probably be quoting it for the rest of my life. The pace and flow of the story are perfect. You actually showed that Harry has emotions beyond anger and flights of fancy or lust... The more i read, the more i realised that you weren't going to make them declare their love for each other, but because your writing was so good, it was okay.
In short your one-shot ( ),
was...
perfect
Sincerely from Iraq,

Author Feedback: I have read 'The Tent' and I enjoyed the first few chapters, but things became too staged for my tastes after that. 'Bearings' is a post-Voldemort fic, taking place after seventh year and beyond. At the moment, it is in hiatus.
I don't think at this point in the story Harry and Hermione would have been able to declare their love for each other, but some kind of realization seems to be vital. They've nearly been wrenched apart, and as Harry vocalizes, without Hermione he would be nothing. The scene had great potential in the book, but instead JK just ended it. I was quite disappointed.
Thanks for the comments |

Definitely what should have happened. It's almost amusing with how hard JKR had to work to keep them apart. |
Author Feedback: I know, right? Ah well... |

Oh, so beautifully done! I think, this is one of the best tent scenes that's been written after Ron's left. Definitely enjoyed it |

I was so close to start crying, you did an excelent job, I can't think of the words to describe how I feel right now, for me this is what should have happened. It was just amazing, Congrats for the great story and the amazing writting. |

Breathtaking... We finally see Harry think about how important Hermione is to him. She is his reason, for living, for fighting. Pity JKR couldn't write the truth though.
Excellent

Author Feedback: The truth just keeps creeping up on us, doesn't it? Honestly, I was disappointed that the chapter ended in 'Deathly Hallows' as soon as it did, because I thought there was so much Harry and Hermione had to say to each other at that point in the story. And since this is Jo we're talking about, it obviously wouldn't have been declarations of undying love, but they had problems they needed to work out. Instead, she ended the chapter without resolving anything. Part of the reason I wrote this was to exorcise my frustration at that, but also because I wanted to try to stay with the parameters of canon but have Harry realize how right Hermione really is for him...
Quite the long-winded explanation, but you get my drift Thanks. |

Beautiful. Wonderful. Heartbreaking. Absolutely stunning and achingly lovely. This definitely is a piece of work that must be recognized. |
Author Feedback: You have recognized it more than enough for me just for taking the time to leave a comment. I enjoy every review I receive (even the flames - they're good for laughs) and yours is no exception. I'm glad that you enjoyed this short story so much and that I could provide some entertainment, albeit brief. Thanks for reading |

oh, this was perfect! it was exactly how i pictured this missing scene to be-- them comforting each other over the loss of ron, over their anger at voldemort, the war and their fate, over all that they had to left behind, over their fears. not a snog-fest, just a feeling-fest. i especially loved the last part, about harry feeling hermione's lips on his throat... i could see it so vividly this is the best rendition of this missing scene i've seen so far. fabulous, great job! |
Author Feedback: Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed the scene for it's slow burn and the slow realization that Harry and Hermione are what they value most in the world. |

Amazing and very realistic chapter! Looking forward to seeing what happens next! Keep up the amazing work! Please update again soon! Tiffany |
