Author Feedback: So... Am I right in surmising you like it? I am having a fun time working out the details -- and I hope that we get some great material from DH -- whatever comes, because at this point, we'll never be satisfied with just the books ever again. The fanfic world is just way too big.
The title was a whim -- I needed something besides "Harry and Hermione's Illicit Affair." So -- a quick quote look on the internet led me to the robert frost quote, and the title... Now that I think about it, though, Notes on a Scandal is a movie with Cate Blanchett -- this title was probably lurking in my subconscious... Not that I've seen that movie or anything...
I guess this is the line you're talking about: Mrs. Ronald Weasley continues to play the part, and shoves the jealousy next to regret and leans into her husband’s touch.
I am glad you like it -- I am never 100% satisfied with anything, and especially this, because I posted unbetaed (I see at least 3 tense mistakes! HORROR!)... but I am thrilled you like it!

I am really glad you like this -- normally, I would never, and I mean, never ever write something so... contrary to myself, I guess. It came as a request from some forum members, and the muse hit, so I ran with it. I don't exactly have a lot of experience with sneaking around...  but I hope it's at least believable within the realm of H/Hr.
That being said... I'm 1 day, 12 hours, 35 minues and 8 seconds away from knowing the ending of DH. Any and all spoilers, imho, up until that point are fake and hearsay... Thanks for the tip, but Dobby's staying. lol... Who knows? I am fond of a good AU fic, and if that's what this has to be, then so be it. If JKR will lay a path and then not follow it, then I don't want her writing H/Hr anyway.
I'm crossing my fingers to get this done tonight--but I am at work until 6pm... If I get it finished before DH, I'll actually have completed a multi-chapter fic within the realm of when it was actually written!! Do you believe in miracles?

Wow. This was fantastic! I loved how you managed to keep them in character the entire time. Affair!fics are tricky, because it's hard to imagine either one of them actually engaging in something like that, and although nothing serious has happened yet in this fic, you make it believable. I love the way you chose not to make Ron and Ginny evil partners who cheat or drink or something, which leads to H/Hr turning to eachother. You played it as two people who realized they ended up with the wrong people. Very, very nice. I can't wait to read the rest! |
