Wow, that was a really interesting and well-planned look at a question that's been bugging me for a while now. It's clear that you really thought about Soul and Spirit Magic before writing this; it's almost as if you created your own rules for magic mechanics! It's been a while since I've read a good technical fic - thanks!

This story reads a bit like an essay, and may be a tad dry for some, but I really liked it. Considering the whole HP universe and the magical concepts contained therein are completely fictional, I was still buying the plausibility of Soul Magic vs. Spirit magic, pieces of Voldemort's soul actually strengthening Harry, Harry's strength not waning once Lily and Dumbledore left him etc.

I like to tell myself that maybe one of Harry and Hermione's descendants wrote it for, say, an update of Hogwarts, a History.

A well-reasoned explanation for Harry being a Horcrux. I'm not sure I buy it, but it's a really good explanation An excellent story, with the main focus on Harry and Voldemort's defeat. I somehow always like those better than the ones that skip over the defeat and go straight to the ship. Both aspects are good, and important, but Voldemort's defeat is the main goal.

*laughs* I like this approach to Horcruxes (Horcruci?) and how they can be dealt with. Am I correct in thinking that Lily had accessed Rowena's copy of the Codex and that's why she was prepared and knew the spell? That would be the ultimate ironic joke, that it was efforts that far back in time that assured that, try as best he might, Tom -still- couldn't win. Where ever his spirit ended up, that's sure to be a major torture for him, and I'm hoping he ends up as one of Fenriswolf's stories puts him, as a playtoy for Chernebog or of something equivalent.

I don't know how you want to take it, but it is being offered. You're writings or musing are well written and executed in such a fashion as to encompass all aspects of the story, allowing for a full measure of closure to be obtained by the reader. Had this story ended H/G, I would probably be easily enthralled with it as I am with the H/Hr. Because that plays secondary to everything else. And your everything else portrays all of the characters in light that both illuminates their positive qualities but also casts their darker ones into shadows, where the characters can fight them on their own terms. Should you publish beyond fanfic, I would be a reader as well. You're plot lines are imaginative and powerful. Wonderful job, and I probably rambled. Sorry. Later.

Once again yeh've outdone yerself. If only Professor Binns could've made the history of magic as interestin' as yeh! Absolutely the best reasonin' behind a horcrux as I've read. It also goes a long way ter tell us all just how 'Arry survived the first killin' curse that Tom hit 'im with. Might even explain what happened ter the 'Eadmaster, might've been part of his plan, mighten it? A thumpin' good story!

Hey this was great. I loved the theory stuff at the beginning and you transitioned well to the narriative at the end. The only thing I would suggest is that you should have ended the way you started and have the author reveal themselves at the end with a signature or something like that. Other than that though this was great. Good job

I loved all the "techno-babble" about Soul Magic and Spirit Magic. I would have liked to see more of Harry and Hermione's post-Voldemort reuniting and their relationship, but fully inderstand that was not the focus of the story (and I LOVED that they had a whole ton of kids together!)
