Thanks for such a marvelous chapter. It's amazing how you weaved such a tremendous (and heart-breaking) chapter behind Verity's tale. You could truly see the pain that Verity felt as she related it to Dean, Harry, and Hermione. I also liked especially how you portrayed Dean there at the end -- after hearing such a tale, you can imagine how purplexed he must be, and you described it perfectly! Chapter 25 soon, please? :-)
Author Feedback: Hi there!

Thanks (as always) for the detailed review - it never ceases to fascinate me how each reader picks up on different points and details - I really never get sick of reading the different points of view and thoughts (so keep 'em coming, okay? ) . Chapter 25 soon, eh? (the "please" always helps, lol!). I'm actually, literally working on it at the moment, and thought I'd just check for reviews (the mental equivalent of getting up and having a stretch ) and I've just done a word count on what I've typed...Chapter 24 was about 4,600 words and so far, Chapter 25 is 6,300 and it's still "writing itself", as I think of it when my fingers can hardly keep up with my thoughts and ideas! If it gets too long, I may have to split it in two, ! Anyways, thanks so much again for the review - back to Chapter 25!

Cheers & ciao,
Janie

i gone across this storywhen i was looking for something new to read. i find some post-howgarts' stories a little bit flat, but i liked the summary and give your story a shot. I'm glad i did. i'm thoroughly enjoying it, so much so that i read everything in one sitting.....lol. great work. can't wait to the next installment.
Author Feedback: You read the whole story in one sitting??!! That's impressive! And also, thank you for taking the time to review - welcome to the Nook!
Cheers,
Janie

You're back! I'm so glad! I've missed the Nook! I hope you haven't had a bad time while you've been away.
Fantastic chapter, all the pieces are coming together and the mystery is becoming unravelled! Looking forward to the next installment!
Author Feedback: Yes I'm back and I'm probably even gladder than you and I missed the Nook too!
And nope, I didn't have a bad time while I was away either, thank heavens. I'm really glad you enjoyed the "unravelling" - I've known all that from the beginning and it was just brilliant to get it all written down at last!
Great to hear from you - cheers!

She's back!!! YAY!!! *jumps up and down, claps excitedly*
Hi Janie! (Got your e-mails, btw! I swear writing back is near the top of my to-do list!)
I was so happy to realize once I started reading this chapter, the rest of the story came flooding back!
Loved the "Floo Flich" and "Pactum Cura Obtineo." Your spells and whatnot always sound like canon!
You have a gift for making large chunks of exposition captivating, as if we're right there with the characters listening raptly to Verity's story!
I'm so glad you're back, and I'm so looking forward to the next chapter!
(Can you believe I STILL haven't done anything with Christmas Curse yet??? *rolls eyes* Does thinking about it count? )
I will e-mail as soon as I can. Where does the time go???
Hugs from Springlike California!
~H.
Author Feedback: Hi sweetie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It is soooooo good to be back!! (And I know, I KNOW about the time thing - don't sweat the emails, remember? )
Love that you noticed "Floo Flinch" and the Pactum - I sometimes spend ages on those things but at least I guess it usually shows! And thank you so much for the "captivating exposition" comment - I'm not even sure how I do that - I just write!
As for "Christmas Curse" - don't stress about that either - there's always next year! As for where the time goes, I wish I darn well knew because if I did, I'd go and bring back absolute gobs of it!! Rightio - back to Chapter 25!
Cheers dear

I was quite pleased to see an update to this story. I had begun to think I would be resigning this story to the "Abandoned" heap and adding you to the growing list of authors who have floated away from the H/Hr ship lately. Consequently, I really was overjoyed to see that you were still writing; I'm sure I am one of many who missed you.

I haven't read the new chapter yet, as I wanted first to welcome you back. I'm sure it will be great, and as soon as I can I'll leave a proper review.

Thanks for sharing.
Author Feedback: Thank you for the welcome back! I hope you enjoy this chapter and never fear, I would never choose to abandon one of my stories (or my lovely readers!). As for floating away from Harry/Hermione....nope, not in this lifetime! I may be one of the few H/Hr shippers who still loves JKR and totally accepts her decisions and choices for her characters - they are hers after all (don't get me started on this - I could write a book, LOL!!). Strangely, it was the way JKR wrote her H/Hr interaction, right up to and especially including Order of the Phoenix, that had me totally convinced that it would be H/Hr. And I think it's rather ironically fateful that the actors who play Harry and Hermione have incredible onscreen "chemistry" - I'm wondering how they're going to pull off convincing H/G and R/Hr scenes in the last three movies...
Anyways, better stop writing here and go write Chapter 25, eh?
Ciao for now,
Janie

So happy to see that you updated! . Great story about dean's father, and the history about the nook, but yet so sad, and tragic time.

I can't imagine what dean feel's like. but one feeling that is certain, He must feel so much pride about his father, that he loved him & his mother very much.

I hope you put in this story a conversation with him and his mother about what he learned?.

I'm happy that this story will resume again, and not so long between chapters. because you have one great story .
Author Feedback: I'm happy I updated, too! (Seriously!) Glad you enjoyed that chapter and funny you should say that ("I hope you put in this story a conversation with him and his mother about what he learned") - because that's in the "maybe pile" for Chapter 25 - it will just depend whether it "works" or not (I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!).
Thanks so much for the great review!
Cheers,
JanieB

Hi again Janie!
Found a couple of minutes so here I am. Great chapter, so happy to get to read more of your words. I thought the story Verity told, was really well done and very touching. I love, as I believe I've said, that you are filling in the history of Dean, who you've turned into one of my favorite supporting character. The rest of it was a nice bit of characterization.

So what have you been up to? Lots of fun stuff I hope My family, Jennifer, and the Piggies have all been well. I visited my Mum last week, that was fun we went used book shopping and ate Indian food. I'm taking a glass in GPS map making, which I'm behind in, and should be working on.... oh well have to get back in touch with my favorite Portkey pal. Just quickly went to the Renn. Faire once, a Halloween Party last night, {as Capt. Jack again AGAIN! no not original, but so fun AAAaarrr, Pirate!
But mostly as you may or may not know there is a little Presidential election here. [I know its getting allot of attention in some parts of the world, but do want to presume]Anyway I've just been consume CONSUMED! with it, a total CNN whore can't go near the Computer without tracking every little bit of information I can with the Polls and such. Since Politics aren't always the safest thing to talk about I won't express my views unless you are interested at all, but just so you know that's where allot of my time has gone lately.
So I should go again, its late and I'm not going to touch my home work if I'm not careful [class is tomorrow.
Again great to hear from you and read more of the "Nook"
Take care and be well.
Timbo
Author Feedback: Me again Timbo!

You know, s'funny about Dean - when I read the book (GoF, I think?) where he and Ginny get together, it really struck a chord with me and I was really sad for him when Ginny ditched him. That, plus JK saying she didn't end up including a lot of stuff about him - oh, why am I trying to analyse this??!! I'm with you - he's one of my favourite supporting characters too!

As for what I've been up to - great galloping hippogriffs, where should I start??!!! Might have to email that one Capt'n...

Used book shopping???!!!! I can spend HOURS in used book shops!! A few years ago, I used to go up to the mountains for a weekend each year and in one place, Katoomba, they have this HUGE multi-storey used book shop...it was fabulous, me, by myself, no one else to worry about and whole day ahead of me...heaven would be a bookshop with equal parts new and old books...and the time to read everythhing!!!

Glad Jen and the Piggies are fine - Max the Wonder Budgie lives on (despite a stroke during my hiatus). Hubby's tropical fish are having babies all over the place, some of which actually escape being eaten by the "adults" - they're really cute! (yep, cute fish )

A Halloween party already?? And fancy that, Capt'n Jack made an appearance? I wish Halloween would take off here more - the stuff you can buy seems to increase just a squidge (smaller than a tad) each year but ::sigh:: no one came tricky treating here last year even though I had my pumpkin in the window and spooky lollies ready to go...maybe this year... (trouble is, parents don't like the idea of their kids roaming the streets (even the safe ones) at night knocking on strangers' doors and taking sweets off them...but if the supermarket has those carving pumpkins again, I'll be buying one - and some of those spooky lollies - you never know!

By the way - the Indian food - can you take really hot curries?? I can't, although hubby loves a good curry - he loves chillies too. And the Faire - how was the mead?

Oh you mean THAT presidential election?? Yep, we've heard about it, believe me!! Oh dear....you'll probably disappointed to hear dear Capt'n that I'm rather apolitical...I don't really GET the whole hype thing although mind you, when I was still living at home before I was married, my dad got involved with the politial party of his choice here and so for a few years we were involved with polling booths and handing out how-to-votes and even scrutineering (not sure if you even have that there?) - but I have to say I had fun, made friends with all the other party's handers-outer of how-to-votes and we had a high old time - we would even hand out each other's how-to-votes if someone had to take a loo stop! As for whether it should be Mr Obama or Mr McCain (is it that, or just Cain? How embarrassing, I've heard it enough in the last few months and it's just left my head... ), I'm afraid I'm really rather lost . My dad, who is very savvy about such things, explains it all so well and while he's talking it all makes sense and I understand it, then blow me down if it doesn't just seem to evaporate later! ( ) Conclusion: My political hard drive has reached its capacity... (I could be on both sides of a debate team and argue each point of view with equal passion ) So say what you like Timbo, without fear or favour! (Mind you I can understand becoming obsessed with such things - we all have our obsessions!)

Now I have to know how on earth you can make GPS maps???? I mean just about everyone has a GPS here, I think they're brilliant! But at the risk of sounding, shall we say naive? (yes, let's ), I thought the maps were generated by some little computer nano chip whatsit inside the GPS that turned the satellite signal into something readable. Do tell!!! (After you've done your homework!)

It is really good to be back - and catching up with my favourite pirate - and now I'd better go work on that next chapter so I can keep "chatting" - really good to hear from you again!

Cheers dear!

OMG I was so happy to see the update. I love this story as I do everything you write. Don't let anyone give you any crap for taking so long. You are and artist and this takes as long as it takes. I for one am grateful that you continue to weave this wonderful tale. Looking forward to some Dean and Ginny romance, as well as more Harry and Hermione romance.
Author Feedback: Now that's the kind of review that makes me and - thank you! So far (touch wood!) no one's been awful about the long gap between chapters - fortunately I think most people are very understanding. And keep watching, there's plenty of everything, including some Dean and Ginny and Harry and Hermione romance up ahead .
Thanks again and cheers!

Hi Janie!
Sheeesh it's been too long and I feel bad, I've been so terrible with keeping in touch or reviewing lately. Not much time of course but even when I do, nothing comes out. I think I just got so out of the habit when I was off line that its going to take a while to get it back, so even though I have no time today (of course) I thought I better write something.

Going to be back in school next Mon. taking an advanced course in GIS should be interesting. Went to 2 Shakesphere plays 12th night and Comedy of errors [done pirate style ]
Just got back from Las Vegas for our semi annual trade show, lot of work, some fun and drinking and pillow fights.
We are watching our neighbors cat, and the Piggies need food so I should probable go, sorry this was so short, hope all is well with you and yours, and this long silence is just because you've been too busy to write more of your lovely lovely story, I really will have to reread it when the next chapter comes out, not that that is a bad thing

Any way take much care, can't wait to hear from you and or get more Sorcerous nookie!
Hugs and cheers
