As always, you descriptions are so vivid - not only of the settings and actions, but also of the characters and their emotions. I got chills with Annice's sycophantic ecstasy, felt the comfort and love from just a touch between Harry and Hermione, and of course a pang of sadness with the thought of Colin's demise. You also deftly weave canon with your original elements (the Armarium and viewing the content of the book, but most of all that horrible lake and the cave). There is so much going on! I can't wait for the meeting at Hogwart's, and I am worried about Harry and everyone close to him!
Congratulations on your triumphant return, Janie! I'm excited to see the next chapter, and the rest of the story!

Hope you are doing well. It's 11:00 AM so were about 13 hours from HBP Wondering if you saw it already at a Midnight sneak or if your waiting til the morning like a sane person We'll be there hoping for the best.
Lets see what didn't I put in my last E-mail? Survived and enjoyed another PTUP bike tour. Were really in to the HBO vampire series True Blood and went to a dinner party with that as the theme. Following the Tour De France, seeing if Lance can possibly pull off another win.
Well must go lots to do before work then HBP hope you loved it or will love it

Doing great mate as we say down here! I've seen HBP twice already - and am seeing it again tomorrow . Movies usually always open on a Thursday here, so I booked tickets on the net for me and the two other HP fans who always go to the first morning session on the first day (like my sleep ) - and then discovered that for some reason they were releasing it on the Wednesday night!! SO - then asked older son if he wanted to come on Wednesday night which of course he did - but poor hubby couldn't make either of those sessions because of work SO I'm going with him tomorrow (Saturday) - phew!!! But I do mostly love it - just a couple of things - but I'll fill you in when I reply to your email.
Glad you survived the bikie's tour - will want to hear more about True Blood and being in the series???? And do you think Lance can do it again? He's third overall at the moment I see - fingers crossed!! Amazing man.
The Nookie has been moving a little more slowly this week due to many visitors (I know too many people, lol!!)

Finally got a chance to read this very quickly. I'm still at my Mum's for Christmas, though I'm ging to head home soon. So just quickly I really liked this new chapter very dark in the beginnig almost makes you feel sorry for the Malfoy's.....ah who am I trying to fool, they got what they deserved.
As usual you write Gin and Dean so well as well as H/hr [of course.] Must find time to reread this story as I forgot Nevelle's crush.

I have to admit that I never thought of Lucius Malfoy as the First Disciple to Be (though it does make sense, really). Quite a twist to have him & Draco meet a rather untimely end there! I guess that will keep me from commenting further about whether or not I believe the "reformed Draco" theory I see in various fanfics!
Another lovely chapter, as always. I am equally intrigued at the information about the new First Disciple to Be, and what she has planned. Hope to see the next chapter soon (and thanks so much for making me famous again by mentioning me in your note at the start of the chapter! :-D ). |

Ah ha! So you're a closet-reformed-Draco-loves-Ginny-Harmonian, eh? To be honest, I don't think Draco was ever quite as bad as his father - but I don't think he'd be in my circle of friends, lol! Having said that, I had one reader of "Days" and "Weddings" who was potty about Draco and agonised over all the dreadful things I put him through in those stories - she ended up leaving me convinced I should try my hand at writing a Draco/Ginny fic which I did...it wasn't easy, let me tell you!
That new First Disciple is a nasty piece of work, believe me! I'm already rubbing my writer's hands at what she's going to get up to....(I hope this isn't any reflection on my own personality which is totally that of a law abiding, caring, good, sunny little Aussie! )
Next chapter as soon as I can, as always - and don't get caught up in that fame - remember what Gilderoy said: "Celebrity is as celebrity does." ( )

Yep, Draco and Lucius are dead and gone. Part of why it was so fast and merciless was that I wanted to portray the Dark One's total lack of any connection with his Disciples other than as tools and that they are all totally expendable - he'll simply wipe them out without a second thought. Was I being as nasty as a Malfoy? Anyways, glad you enjoyed it - see you next chapter!

And a very merry Christmas to you too!Wow it's Christmas eve over there already? Not even close here. Dang I'm tired we've been really busy at the store, which is good, and I'm glad but I am beat. And I have to wrap presents and pack because I'm leaving right from work to Jen's uncles for Christmas eve. Always funny to think the differences between here and there as we had snow on some near by Mountains and you must be boiling. The snow was so low I hiked up to it one day before work.

While I'm not surprised both the Malfoy's were directly involved with the Dark One, I was a bit shocked at their end at the hands of the inferi!
Love the apt names you've given Hasluck (maybe a hint to his talent?) and Annice Nott  .
I'd forgotten about Neville's thing for Hermione. Yikes! Poor guy... though being the benevolent author you are, I know Neville won't suffer for too long!
Another brilliant chapter, Janie! You covered a lot, with your usual flair for description, plot twists, and character development!
Tonight my family and I went looking at Christmas lights. It's a bit of a tradition. We get in the car and drink hot chocolate and listen to Christmas music while looking at the amazing light displays around our valley.
Reading your latest chapter of Nook was a perfect way to cap off the evening!

Interesting you were shocked about the Malfoys' end - I always knew they wouldn't make it through to the last chapter and I sometimes wonder if, writing from that perspective, I don't sometimes appear to "rush" things. It was also because I wanted to convey the Dark One's lack of loyalty - or any decent feelings - that his Disciples are all totally expendable.
Hmmm...I was a bit sneaky with Hasluck's name - there were two characters in Day and Weddings who worked for Neville in the Ministry and I used the first name from one and the last name from the other for this story  but I did choose "Hasluck" as the surname because I thought it was appropriate!
For Annice, I search name sites and it means "pure" which I thought was also appropriate! I have a little background written for her - which I do with all my characters - writing baddies is fun sometimes!
Ah, dear Neville - I SO like him! So yep, you're right, I will look after him !!
Oooh, compliments - thank you!!  Better go start writing so I can get some more...
