Nice job on the story, sort of a departure for you in several ways, sonfic, pretty angsty, mostly Harry's inner thoughts, very good though. I like how well you captured how totally insecure one can feel in a relationship, especially, I think, when one is young and inexperienced. Harry would suffer from this more then most with his back ground. This would of course be even harder in this case, Harry and Hermione, post H/R. The ending was so very bitter sweet, sweet of course because both Harry and Hermione are now even more sure about their love but poor Ron, yep you know how much I dislike H/R and love H/Hr, yet a really good writer can make you feel Ron's point of veiw and pain.
"you'd felt only the fleeting sadness that comes when you realise something has gone beyond your reach - gone forever - and you realise you don't care… " Hauntingly sad yet beautiful, the loss of first love.
This reminds me a bit of and old story here, "Only Love" which also that as well.
Anywho, how are you? Really sorry, me no write, Every thing here is all right, trying to get some extra miles in on my bike as I'm going on another bike tour near the end of the month,[ should be riding right now.] Seen Pirates yet? Don't want to give any spoilers, but I liked it alot, possible as much as the first 2, though I can see why some people thought the middle was slow still pretty freaken' wow!
Glad to "see" you again! Can't wait for the longer story, and I'll write more soon.

I always feel so flattered you sit and type such long missals to me! I always end up in agony watching people who can't touch-type - my fingers twitch to do it for them!! Anyways - glad you liked that little story - and yep, was pretty angsty for me, wasn't it? And I've always thought Harry could easily have those sorts of insecurities - especially after that crappy childhood he had! And poor Ron - I do feel sorry for him...but not enough to ever give him Hermione!! I just can't see how on earth they developed any sort of basis for a relationship through all that bickering!! (I don't care about the Han and Leia precedent - idiot princess! Who would've turned down Harrison - I mean Han!!! ) And I liked that bit too about the fleeting sadness when you realise that sort of thing - an extremely poignant feeling.
Now listen, no worries about you no write - me no write either! Well, you just did and I am now! I just need to post more stories...
Brrrr!!! We've started seriously freezing here the last week or two (well, it IS winter...) so I shivered when I read about your upcoming bike tour - but of course, you'll be doing that in the warm summer sunshine! Or will it be hot?? Going past any vineyards this time??
And nooooooo!!!!!!! *loud cry of agony* I haven't seen Pirates yet and I'm dying to see it!!!!! Some friends of ours said they didn't even notice how long it was - the time flew - the movie was great - and I haven't seen it yet.... I'm hoping this Saturday *Janie crossed everything crossable*
I think I'll start posting that next story soon - I want to get it up before DH comes out - I just don't know how I'm going to feel after reading the final, last Harry Potter book ever!!  So I'll "see" you then Timbo - keep on bikin'!!!!

Janie, Janie . . . you've almost given me two heart attacks in under 30 minutes! (Read my email and you'll understand what I'm talking about.)
I knew this was going to be a wee bit angsty *points to title and description of story*; however, you gave me quite a scare when I read this: "The second he saw you I knew." Eeek. Terror! Was Hermione going to . . .? COULD Hermione POSSIBLY . . .???
But I should have had more faith in my Janie, a faithful pumpkin-pie-er!
The part that, to me, best summed up Harry and Hermione's relationship was this:
"I know your heart aches. I know that when you left him, you lost his family that had become yours, as they had mine. But I lost them too, because I was on your side. And now I'm by your side. And I doubt they'll ever speak to either of us ever again. Neither of us speaks of it, but sometimes we look at each other and we share the unspoken pain of that loss…"
You see? They are both willing to sacrifice whatever they must in order to be together. And yet, being the good people they are, such sacrifice truly is a SACRIFICE: painful and not without regret at times.

Glad you loved my short little "waffle" about our beloved Harry and Hermione! True love always wins out in the end, doesn't it?
All is hunky dory down here (although a tad wet the last couple of days) I'm working hard at finishing that other story - and hurrying up as fast as I can!
It is actually more wonderful to get back in touch with some of wonderful reviewers than it is to have finished this little story!!! I have missed my "Portkey chats" more than I ever thought possible!!!
Anyways, once I start posting "Sorcerers' Nook" we'll have penty of opportunities to "chat" to our heart's content!!!
