This story appeared at just the right time for me. I've been reading the first published novel by noted HP fanwriter Cassandra Clare (author of the celebrated Draco Trilogy). Having learned her lessons well from HP, she's woven a good bit of romance into the story, but where there is love, there is often heartbreak. I just finished a chapter that left a hole in my heart. Your story was just the salve I needed to heal that wound. It went straight for the heart, applying the balm that was wanting.

Your reference to "Healer Inman" has me wondering about the inspiration for this story. Are you perchance a fan of Are You Being Served? The recent passing of John Inman may or may not be a coincidence, but whatever voice was whispering in your ear did not lead you falsely. Writing a short-short story is an art in itself. If one picture is worth a thousand words, then a thousand words is worth one big smile where this story is concerned.

(Actually, the saying is "One picture is worth TEN thousand words, but the metaphor works better my way.)

And it seems I'm not alone in seeing Hermione as a Healer. The only better scenario would be Harry and Hermione as husband-and-wife Aurors, like Frank and Alice Longbottom. But if we're dealing in metaphors, who better than Hermione to heal Harry's heart with her love?
