interesting. I would like to know where this idea came from. I like the reference to a winter's tale. I was well written and a very good read.
Author Feedback: It was written for the Phoenix Rising convention's Paintbrush and Quill collaboration. My "Paintbrush" spoonjosh and I hammered out the plot together. I wrote the fic and he drew art, which is linked in the author's notes. We took the theme of death and rebirth literally

Thanks!

poor hermione... i didn't like the ending very much because harry died but it was touching, the whole story was.. at first i thought they weren't married yet but it dawned on me when harry stepped into the shower joing hermione *wink* *wink*..haha, it was a very touching tale but i wish the phoenix could've been voldemort like with fawkes being grindelwald so that harry could've lived.. but of course its your story...

I support h/hr!!!
Proud to be a Delusional Harmonian!!!
Author Feedback: Had the plot been the final battle, making Voldemort into a new phoenix would have worked. But the plot worked up with spoonjosh called for Harry having killed Voldemort in the past, then being possessed by him. Think of what Hermione did as an exorcism.

Thanks for the review!

This was an interesting story. Where did the plot bunny come from?

Thank you.

Whoa, that's quite the poignant story, and it's just the kind of trap Tom would set/leave. I'm glad Hermione managed to stop him but one could wish the price was less.

Painful, but wonderful and unique. I've never seen a storyline like this. Your descriptions are long and in details. Sad the story is not my type, I like a happy ending.

I couldn't put it more succinctly than Giro has with his/her review:

"How did Dumbledore survive the creation of Fawkes? Unless I'm mistaken, it was him who killed Grindelwald, so he should have gotten the evil tattoo and then died because of it.

A rather prominent plot hole is the fact that neither the living Dumbledore, nor his portrait, bothered to inform Harry and/or Hermione of the risks inherent in killing a dark lord. Much pain could have been avoided, not too mention the huge chance of Harry actually killing someone. That's quite criminal in my book; and frankly I can't fathom how Dumbledore's portrait could flirt with McGonagall, all happy and carefree, while delivering Harry Potter's death sentence.

Apart from that, good read, with a very out of character Harry, absent from the story both when he was himself and when he wasn't. As it was pointed out, the marriage was not very convincing, there didn't seem to be much friendship left between Harry and Hermione, while Ron got a very positive makeover. This is understandable considering he situation, still, it sort of ruined my enjoyment of the story."

That sums up my thoughts as well.

Regards.
Author Feedback: As I responded to the previous reviewer:

It's not a plot hole.

The entire reason Voldemort found a home in Harry was the scar connection Harry shared with Voldemort. Dumbledore had no such connection to Grindelwald. When Harry killed Voldemort, Voldemort wormed his way into Harry via the scar connection. When Harry began exhibiting signs of possession, that's when Hermione began doing her research.

And as for Dumbledore or Hermione not telling Harry he might be possessed? With only one Dark Lord killed previously, there wasn't a whole lot of previous experience to base any conclusions upon.

The entire point of the fic was Harry behaving out of character -- he was possessed. Two years of Voldemort eating into Harry's brain will change his character.

oh my god. Wow. This was riveting. I can't normally bring myself to read angsty fics, but this one... well, I couldn't stop. I thought the story behind Fawkes was brilliant. I was actually aching for Hermione. She saved the world and it was at her expense. This was so poignant. Thank you for providing such reading enjoyment, however, can the next one be happy??? Pretty please?
Author Feedback: Thanks for the review. I'll try to make the next one happy, but my muse has been dark and slashy lately.

This was very well-written, and the plot was intricate and engaging. I'm sad, though, that Harry couldn't find happiness without his own death being part and parcel of said happiness. And Hermione's friendship with Ron made me uncomfortable, probably because it feels so like the canon Harry/Hermione friendship. Ron and Hermione have never had that type of friendship while Harry and Hermione always have, so to see it with Ron was unnerving. And I didn't get any real sense of the love between Harry and Hermione -- she always refers to him as her husband, but they are so much more than that, and I guess I just really missed that connection between them (especially coupled with it being Ron who is her comforter etc.)..

Anyway, this was a well-written story but it turned me off emotionally. I did like the Shakespeare references, though -- Hermione and Leontes.

Ron didn't receive a makeover here. Ron is Harry and Hermione's best friend. I don't imagine they'd be best friends for six years if they didn't enjoy his company.

And the underlying reason for Hermione turning to Ron, as you say, is because Harry was behaving so unusually.

Oh, that was horrible! Not the story--the writing was great, as usual, but the ending (insert sniffles and wails here). Now I need to go read something especially fluffy to cheer myself up. I hope you'll post something more upbeat soon. Please.
Author Feedback: Unfortunately most of my plot bunnies lately have either been slash or dark -- mostly both.

Thanks for the review.
