This was a curiously lackluster chapter, but isn't that true of most of our lives? We plod along in the comfortable rut we carve for ourselves and suddenly we encounter a moment of fear or passion or... whatever. A cynic once said that life is a series of catastrophic events separated by long periods of boredom.
Let us hope that Harry and Hermione can find something to glue together the excitements and still allow the quiet times to keep them interested.

There have been great chapters that preceded this one - lots of well-written action sequences and drama - arguments and evil cliffhangers - Snape got what was coming to him at the expense of scaring Hermione a little. But scaring Hermione was perfect, because it finally brought out their feelings. This chapter was just the beginning of some more awesome moments with Harry & Hermione! You have done such an amazing job with this story and I know more action (like the eventual defeat of Old Moldyshorts) and more romance (Harmonian, of course) is coming up! I know it has been less than a month since the last update, but I really hope that you are still working on this story! I need to know what else happens on this official date, the location of the the next Horcrux and the end of Moldyshorts!! Please, please, please update soon!!!

This story just keeps getting better and better!!! OMG - I am so in love with Harry that I cannot even begin to explain why Hermione just doesn't jump him or declare her undying love! Harry must be seriously wealthy - in Chapter 3, he took Hermione on a dream date, Chapter 7, buys the Grangers a brand new house and three cars, and in Chapter 8 - buys Hermione books and jewelry - that's spoiling the woman you love and your prospective in-laws!! Plus, Harry is so happy and affectionate, even though he's got a lot to worry about - which I can attribute to Hermione and her parents! (Sigh)
I am liking the fact that Ron finally understands what shaky ground he is in with his two best friends - but he needs to move on from his crush on Hermione because she has made it clear that she doesn't want him. The best part of the last 6 chapters was when both Ginny & Umbridge got what was coming to them from Hermione and Harry respectively!! You are doing such an excellent job!! I must read on!!

Mr. Granger's name changed from Aaron to David in this chapter. Just thought I'd let you know...

I ran across this story and I have wondered why I haven't read it! Anyway, this was a fantastic opening chapter - I loved how you depicted Harry as really growing into a man, and getting physically toned and modeling himself after his deceased mentor. I love his developing confidence as well. The explanation of Petunia's behavior was well-written. You have got me intrigued so I know that I will read all the available chapters straight through, but I don't want to leave you 19 separate reviews. Anyway, looks like the latest chapter has been posted pretty recently, giving me hope that this story will have a conclusion! Excellent opening chapter, I can't wait to read on!

PS: I boycotted DH - read the epilogue, decided the rest wasn't worth reading out of principle. Good fanfiction is better than canon.

Would be nice to see more of Remus and Tonks. Are they keeping an eye on Ginny? Did they tell Arthur?
