I really liked the final line of the story. It is so in character for Hermione to ruthlessly examine others' failings while ignoring her own. And also in character that she would do anything for Harry.

It's funny that you should write a story along these lines because I've always thought the same thing myself. For as long as he's known her, Hermione is always throwing herself in between Harry and whatever threatens him, whether he wants her to or not. In fact, I think the only character in the book who has an even bigger "saving people thing" than Harry is Hermione herself. (I hate to say it, but the notable exception is HBP--I loathe what JKR did to her there). At any rate, I'm looking forward to seeing how you develop this story line.

This was beautifully written and it certainly rings true with Harry and Hermione! How my heart goes out to them I really love it, I hope there would be some type of follow-up to see what Hermione is going to do concerning her "lie", but this ends perfectly as well with just the right hint of incompletion/completion. Good job, keep it up!

I always thought that Hermione was another hero: Harry's.
It was a wonderful writing about Hermione's feelings regarding Harry's complex, which he surely has.
This is a one shot, right?
