to tell you honestly, i hate this fic. i hate that harry dies and hermione figured that he loves her. i hate it.

so sad. is this a one shot? it is really quick. its sorta like and end to book seven. keep up the good work, luv you stories!!!

I have a few problems with this fic. First of all, you start out that saying Harry was "satisfied" after Voldy's death, and that even though he was sad about those lost, that they "werent for naught", and that he had learned to cope. Then suddenly he kills himself? It comes way out of the blue.

Also, I know you said AU, but I cant imagine Harry ever killing himself. The Harry we know from the books, and especially the Harry who loves Herms at portkey, would never kill himself in front of her. I cant imagine anything that would cause her more pain. And what did Hermione understand at the end? There didnt seem to be a way to understand what Harry did (or the way he did it). Suicide is a selfish act to begin with, in the amount of pain it causes those left behind, but to do it in front of someone you supposedly love is unforgivable and un-understandable (sorry, just MHO).

Also a little disappointing was that it's under 1000 words, but so much of it was the song. There seemed to be so little story. Removing some song to add room for more information (like any struggle Harry might have had that lead up to his taking his own life) could only improve this work.

Sorry to leave a negative review, but I felt I had to. I'm not a fan of stories that use suicide as a "way out" in the first place, but sometimes well written stories can get me past that point. This didnt.

Bah! Harry died. He shouldn't've died...it makes me too sad. It was written pretty good. I liked it...good job.

Too much, too quick, too unsubtle... and there's the problem of a wizard/witch being unable to AK themselves because their magic prevents it.

Umm...interesting premise, but at the risk of sounding critical...

There's too much song and not enough story. Yes, it's a songfic. Still, I've read songfics that never even have the lyrics included in the story. It's just a sort of background track that runs in your head as you read. Also, while I understand the idea of Harry not being able to forgive himself for Ron's death, in combination with Sirius' and Dumbledore's, the abruptness of the whole thing struck me as rather off. Not to mention dumping his death on Hermione that way.
From what I've read of Harry's character in the books, he'd give anything to avoid causing the people he loves pain. Committing suicide right in front of his best friend and the woman he supposedly loves, doesn't sound like avoiding causing his loved ones pain.

And on a technical note, can you actually AK yourself?
