Oh my, goodness. I haven't read fanfiction in a while. I've been dabbling in and out of it this long while, waiting and watching for something catch my eye and just grab me by the throat.
This one did.
I love the spoonfuls of references of material things being dashed to the ground, much like Ginny's heart or that's what I made of it anyway.
I love the repeating "I felt like throwing up." A mantra in her head. A ongoing reminder to the audience. To me it was like a steady beat keeping in time with her heart, the rain, or even the motions of the oblivious couple only aware of each other.
I clicked on this for Harry and Hermione and in the end ended up feeling for Ginny, and that's just fantastic.
Your writing is effortless and it moves me.
This piece is a work of art that I must and will find my self diving into again and again and again.
Save to favourites? Check.
Take a gander at Dedicated? Sure, why not.

Beautiful. I feel horribly for Ginny; I love Harry and Hermione as much as just about everyone here, but sometimes it does suck when they get together because someone else gets hurt. Not all the time; sometimes I really hate Ginny. But you wrote her so wonderfully, I couldn't help feeling terribly for her. That last paragraph was bittersweet. Fantastic. |

Author Feedback: No, unfortunately What a Waste will be the only one I'll be posting here. I might be editing Wood's Girl and re-posting but that's a maybe. I'm sorry you were looking for the fics, only to be presented with a blank page. I can only say I deleted them to simply accept that I wrote them, found them pretty bad, and now I've moved on. I like to think I'm a better writer and the fics are still saved on my email. If you really do miss them, I can email the complete fics to you. I quite enjoyed this story. It was probably one of the only 'Harry leaves Ginny for Hermione' stories I have ever read where I actually felt sorry for Ginny. (Not completely, but enough for it to count.)
I really like you writing, I may have to check out some more of your stuff.

Five years of dating despite her knowing he loved someone else and she didn't do anything about it? Well, I say she should have foreseen that it wasn't going to be a happy ending for her. I think she just stayed passive because she's with The Harry Potter. If it was any other guy, she'd dump him in a minute. This is wonderfully written. |
Author Feedback: Hmm...that's one way of looking at it. I'd like to look at it in a way that she loves him so much she just wants him to be happy and is waiting for him to say something. People do stupid things when they're in love.

Just to be clear, I liked this fic. Anytime Harry and Hermione realize their love for each other is a plus in my book. Have to say, though, I felt not one ounce of pity for Ginny. I don't know why that is but I just can't feel anything for her. I guess I can thank JKR for that. She made me grow to hate that character. Happily, I feel that Harry wouldn't make the mistake he made in your fic in the real books. He broke up with her and I pray that it's final. I think it is. Hopefully, it is, cause it so doesn't work.

Ack, you made me feel desperately sorry for Ginny! Although, you did give me a different perspective on the relationship between the three. I liked the depressing background, and some of the lines were very clever. Good job! |

I really like anti-H/G fics. I love the perspective here, how she was deluding herself into thinking that perhaps they had something real. And how he was too scared to end it.
