Wow. Incredible. Great short story. Though I'm very, very surprised that Harry didn't end up doing considerably more damage to Ron. I know that if I were defending someone I loved, and had Harry's kind of power, there would be very little that could stop me from tearing the offending person into several small- to medium-sized pieces.

This was yet another good story.
I like your depiction of Ron. He is a character with a strong streak of jealousy, especially in regards to Harry, and I can easily see him reacting in this way. If he can't have (or keep) Hermione, then Harry can't have her, too.
I am not sure about Ginny here. While I do not like Ginny at all, I can't see her cheating on Harry, since she would do anything to have/keep him and would not jeopardize this.
While I don't like Ron and Hermione being together in this story's past, at least Harry and Hermione are together now. I like how they both knew, at least subconsciously, that they would end up together, as shown by the emerald earrings and chemise.
Crookshanks was perfect. Considering that Ron does not get along with Crookshanks in canon, how can Hermione and Ron ever get together? Love me, love my pet ...

Superb job on characterization; Only one little typo that threw me at the beginning: you referred to Harry as a seventeen year old warrior, yet it has been over a full year since the abortive seventh year (which means that school at least started), and two years since he was handed the quest, so it could mean that Harry is either 18 or 19, depending on when the "abortive year" ended and when you count his quest as starting (when Dumbledore first started training him or after he was charged upon Dumbledore's death).

Aside from that, I loved Ron's characterization. I know you painted him in a bad light, but I always see people not showing his insecurities correctly. Having Hermione leave him only to wait for Harry would be a huge dig against that sore point, and I believe you handled it perfectly.

Superb story, and as much as you love Ron, I would love to see another one-shot story like this one.

That was great! Yeah, I could see Harry's relationship with Ginny being a just passing the time kind of deal. I would expect such petty and jealous behavior from Ron. I bet he'll think twice about talking smack about Harry or Hermione.

A very good ficlet. I didn't think it out of place for Ron, necessarily. If he had the feelings for Hermione that everyone says he does, it's understandable. Seeing Rupert Grint's performance in "Goblet of Fire" makes this side of Ron completely understandable and realistic . . . yes, I'm still a slave to the movies!!!

I truly wish I had something even resembling an aptitude to drawing or art in a y way other than stick figures. If I did, I probably would've sketched the entirety of "Circle's End" by now.

If you ever want to bounce plot ideas or anything with me, I'm available, though of course I bow to the superior skill of Lady Starlight. I have lots of plot bunnys, just for the "Circle" universe! I was wondering when we would see you again. Glad to see that you've finally returned to us.

I like Ron as a character in the books, but I feel his temper is overbearing (even in fanfiction).
- I dont feel that you portrayed Ron as a total 'dick' in the story, but rather brought some light on the more hostile side he has.
