Shockingly, this made me feel a great deal of pity for Pansy. Her actions are still inexcusable, but you brought across the sense of how much she's a product of her environment. A very depressing state of affairs.

I certainly wasn't expecting the ending, more specifically, I didn't think Ron would leave himself that open.
Nice way to start the chapter. Unfortunately (or fortunately, I'm not sure which), I had to re-read the previous chapter to remember what all was going on.
Looking forward to the next chapter. I'm hoping for an interesting twist with the Unspeakables and Pansy. |
Author Feedback: It has been a while, most people have said they needed to refresh. I had to re-read it so many times that I think it's burned onto the inside of my eyelids

I was overjoyed to see an update to this great story; glad you have returned.
As another reviewer has already mentioned, your take on the Harry/Hermione interaction is first rate and really makes this story stand out. I did have to review the previous chapters to recall all that went on and in so doing was reminded ofGiven the vast number of stories out there, to come up with something unique in HP fanfiction is quite a feat; well done.
I'm a bit anxious about how this is going to resolve, hoepfully Ron will be OK. At any rate, thanks for sharing this with us, it's truly great to be reading your stuff again. Thanks. |

excellent, really.
and i know this may sound horrible, considering poor pansy's angst and sadness and lonliness and so on and so forth, but i was literally lol'ing at her misfortune.
Really. like, teary-eyed cackling at all her antics and her poor, poor bruised soul. Am i really that horrible?

Glad to see you back. Had to do a refresher on 'Ties', and enjoyed it just as much the second time around. Loved the update, and can't wait to see how it'll all end up. I absolutely love how you write Harry and Hermione together!
One thing, about the condition to the spell? What exactly can Ginny and Hermione *not* say to Draco and Harry? And what would be the results if they did? |

As the spell was designed to be used for adulterous couples and the like, and an aspect of it is the Imperius curse, the caveat for it fading over time is that they can't directly oppose the effects of the spell or it will solidify its hold over them. Attempting to fight the control it has over them by telling the person they love (in the case of adultery, the person they were having an affair with) that they are bonded to someone else would be an example of this.
Hermione talking about assaulting it at the basic level is a subtle attack, as it's not directly confronting the ties of the spell, but rather eating away at it through positive reinforcement.
That's what I remember from my notes and from the re-reads, at any rate

Haha, this is rather good...and the Parkinson/revenge thingy gives the whole thing an interesting twist. I've noticed that a lot of Harry/Hermione fics tend to end up sounding the same, but so far your stuff is all original and different. And you describe the way your characters are feeling extremely well, so that I nearly feel like I'm there myself. Excellent work, anyway. |

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story. I found it as i was perusing (hah such a fancy word) the challenges section, looking for possible inspiration, and then i found this one, and i quite liked the idea, and could have possibly written a verson myself.
But after reading this, well i know that i wouldnt have been able to compae with such a masterpiece. It's like you had the inspiration urself, amazing how you managed to morph yourself around the idea, never mind it not being yours.
I cant wait for the next chappie, where hopefully Pansy will get a good wholloping. |

And yeah, it was an awesome challenge (cheers paladin3030!). I was a bit apprehensive about taking it, in all honesty, because I've never managed to pull Ginny off particularly well, and I'm not a big D/Ger either. But still, an affinity between Hermione and her seemed too good to pass up, and I love getting dark with Pansy.
