OH NO! Not Alicia! Poor Hermione. I can't even imagine what she's going through. It's a good thing she has all this support to help her out, especially Harry.

Thought this story was abandoned; glad to see it's coming along nicely. I have to agree that Hermione did seem a bit... selfish at the beginning, especially concerning Ron. Any girl that asks you to choose to stay with your family or her, especially after a crisis, is more than a bit self-centered in my book but that's just me.

If the whole mess of Alicia's kidnapping eases the transition of a romance between Harry and Hermione it can easily make it seem like they got caught up in the heat of the moment and didn't think about what they were doing.

I'm all for Hermione getting rescued by a knight in shining armor but some people forget that underneath all that shining armor, there's a person. A person who probably feels at least a bit neglected and offended about Hermione's behavior (ESPECIALLY, if he has feelings for her).

There's a story on this site called 'Desperate' that's somewhat similar to the premise of this story. Take the first person narrative of Harry's attitudes and feelings in that story as an example of how someone in his position might feel.

I really am enjoying your story. I do not think Hermione is selfish at all. She had been through so much and just wanted to get away for awhile. Granted she should of kept in touch but that makes her human not selfish. I can understand her wanting to go to the library that's where she has always gone for answers. It's better than sitting at home doing nothing. I hope nothing happens to her little baby.

Hope Hermione's looking up tracking charms to use on the note - wouldn't Tonks and Shacklebolt and Remus and Flitwick know the most about that, though? It's no use going to the library if you don't know what you want to look up ...

Btw, at the end... disapparated isnt spelt right... dunno if I'm spelling it right either....

Okay, there was an anonymous review about halfway down the page that I would like to respond to in your defense, as I am greatly enjoying your story.

Hermione asked Ron for something SMALL and he couldn't give it--I don't see how thats selfish on her part. And Harry went away to find himself as well--and I don't see that as selfish either. It's not in Hermiones control that her life in California ended up going someplace--although she SHOULD have stayed in touch.

As for their response to her behavior--THEY LOVE HER. You aren't friends for that long without the ability to forgive one another. OF COURSE, they stand by her--especially Harry who seems to have a soft spot for his best friend.

I must say I'm enjoying your story imensely and I urge you to ignore flames that don't appreciate the work you've done.
Can't wait for an update.
