A very sweet conclusion to the story. I'm glad I went back and read it! I did especially enjoy the "Hagrid Cuckoo Clock" -- very easy to imagine that (though I wonder what the real Hagrid would say about it!). I hope you're enjoying your holiday up north there in Australia! :-D |
Author Feedback: Hey there again!
It was a delightful surprise to find and read your reviews for "Reunion" - thank you so much for the chapter-by-chapter reviews - you have no idea how much I enjoy reading those, especially as someone "progresses" through the story, thank you so much again! (I like to repeat myself, lol!)
I've actually just flown in from Cairns in northern Queensland late this arvo (a lovely 3 hour flight with beautiful views of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House as we flew in over my "hometown"); I've been busy unpacking and chatting on the phone and checking out photos etc - but I decided that before falling into bed I'd do a quick check of my emails as well as good old Portkey and here I am!
I seem to recall you dropping a very gentle reminder about "Nook" in one of the chapter reviews - never fear, I will be working on it again assiduously ASAP...especially since Hermione has her arms crossed, and is tapping her foot as she glares at me impatiently, totally underwhelmed by my lack of writing in recent months, lol!
As for my holiday - hell's bells, what can I say? Yesterday I was swimming on a pristine white sand beach on Green Island (which is actually a "vegetated sand cay, 6,000 years old", part of the Great Barrier Reef) and it's the middle of winter for crying out loud! Mind you, I am now sitting here, rugged up, the heater on, wondering why I love Sydney so much when anywhere in Queensland is warmer right now... Seriously, I had the BEST time in Queensland - nothing like being a tourist in your own country, I reckon! (Ran into lots of Americans, Canadians and Japanese up there as well as a surprising number of Aussies doing what we were.)
OK, enough late-night-holiday-lagged waffle - hope to "see" you soon at the Nook! Cheers from a very Aussie...
Good night!

Darn PG-13! Just kidding. I loved this chapter like the ones before it. The intrigue about Henri the French chef was fun to read (and my fingers were crossed that it would not be a relationship wrecker!). Moving on to that last chapter now! :-D |
Author Feedback: Oh dear!!! This is a PS...I forgot to say what I thought about what Hagrid would think about the "cuckoo" clock - I reckon he'd love it - but that's probably because it makes noise and can drink, lol! Of course, I could be totally wrong...*Janie makes note to check with Hagrid about his view of caricatures in various forms of his noble self once said Janie gets past toe-tapping, arm-crossed, glaring Hermione...*
Cheers *Janie waves slightly nervously, looking around frequently for Hagrid and Hermione* ... but not for too long before she falls |

That was another amazing chapter, particularly with what you were going through at the time, Janie. I hope your dad is okay now! I will say that this was probably the most intriguing premise I've seen here on PK (there were a few others that are close, like "Keeping a Promise", but I think yours outdoes them all!). Looking forward now to reading the last chapter (and then waiting (im)patiently for the next chapter of "Sorcerers Nook"!). :-D |

I wish I could come up with more creative ways to say how much I love your stories, Janie! This one is particularly affecting for me, since it goes to the core of what we all love about Harry, Ron & Hermione -- their deep abiding love of friendship. Even at those times in GoF, for instance, when Ron separated himself, you knew somehow that they would get back to normal sometime. The sacrifice they made here was all the more painful, because of what it really cost them! Wow! What a reminder of the power of friendship! |

|
Wow, that was amazing! Definitely worth the wait, I must say. I'm guessing the rest of the "back-story" will show what happened after that, and what kept them apart all that time, right? Wonderful writing, as always. :-D |
| |
|
Yes, very interesting, Janie! Definitely looking forward to reading chapter 8 shortly! I do love your descriptions of everything (such attention to detail is always a characteristic of your stories!). I presume that you will be sharing at least some of the back-story in this next chapter, yes? Please? :-) |
| |
|
Wow, I don't suppose we ever get to see any of that long litany that they went through at the Spire of Death, do we? You could really sense the tension leading up to that fateful moment, and I expect when I read the next chapter (tomorrow!), I'll get a sense of what happened after that very cold, scary cliffie (who would think you'd need a beanie & scarf in July in southern California?)... |
| |
|
Oooh.. such a cliffie! Looks like I have to read a bit more tonight! The nostalgia at them being back at Hogwarts (and for Ron & Hermione, I presume it was their first time in five years, right?) was very well-written, as always. Ok, you've hooked me into one more chapter tonight! :-D |
| |
|
The anticipation continues to rise (I'm not sure I can stand it for seven more chapters!). But, I guess there's nothing you can do about it, right, Janie? Seeing as this story was written quite a bit ago. Still looking forward to the next chapter (which might be my last one tonight, since it's getting late!). Great job, as always! :-) |
| |
|
Boy, I am getting more and more intrigued, though it does seem like some kind of curse our favorite baddie apparently placed on the Trio when they vanquished him. Can't wait to read on to the next chapter (though you said that there are darker chapters ahead before the much anticipated ending scenario plays out). :-) |
| |
|
That was a very sweet scene, and I know that coming up in the story is more of the "back-story", including whatever it was that happened to cause them to stay away from each other for five years! Moving on to the next chapter now! :-) |

Hi Janie!
I realize that I don't think I had read this particular story of yours (though I think it's the only one!). As always, your stories always grab my attention and make me want to keep reading. So, it's great that this one is all done so I don't have to wait! |

Great story, defineatly an interesting idea to have had Harry, Ron and Hermione have to seperate for so long, sucks they had to, but great story idea. |
Author Feedback: Yeah, the separation sucked big time for them- but it made the reunion all that much sweeter!! Thanks for taking the time to review!
Cheers,
Janie |
