Lovely, just lovely.

Harry confessing to having already read the story beforehand created an extra layer to the story. It made it more than the usual, cliched common room flirting. It suddenly opens up a whole new range of possible explanations for his unusually forward behavior.

There is a reversal of roles. Suddenly, Harry is revealed as the participant who goes into this encounter with the bigger secrets to reveal. Hermione, who starts out as having a big crush to hide, becomes the innocent participant who has surprises sprung on her.

Intended or not, all the parts work to enrich the layering. Even the NC-17 talk has more to it than meets the eye. It turns out to be a red herring, a prop Harry uses to push Hermione out of her comfort zone and set her up for the big revelation.

The comedown from the hints of smutty goodness is a downer. But the tradeoff is excellent. The ending is a refreshing rendering of harmony realized.

Thank you for writing this fic. I needed something to read this summer and after reading your story, I decided to try out Smith's Egyptian series. I got them from the library but about half way through The Seventh Scroll, I decided to go ahead and buy them. You're right, Smith is an amazing author. I absolutly fell in love with Taita. Are his other series as good?

I just had one question. They had to be in their eventh year because you said her parent's bought her it in the summer before her seventh year and she was still at hogwarts. I was just a little confused at that part.

I liked how you kept true to the characters. Harry being curious and somewhat oblivious to what was going on. I really did enjoy it.
