Ah, it does make sense, but since it's not canon or something else your readers would know--the implication alone just left me a little confused because I felt like there was something I was supposed to know, or something that was going to be revealed, that I didn't know.
I know it's not an important detail, but stuff like that jumps out at you and nags a bit.
The concrete sheep is real? Well, on one hand that's very very cool, and one hand, well, who on earth built the damn thing?
I wasn't questioning it being real or anything, I think I actually assumed it was. I'm slightly just slightly annyoed when there are places that have so many fantastic natural things going for them--build things like the world's biggest "insert your claim to fame here" and people miss out on other incredible things.
Just how big is the sheep? I think it's Germany--yah, Zurich has statues of cows all through the city. Just as you're walking along different streets, some of them have cows. Cool huh?? |
Author Feedback: As I said, I meant to explain it but I finished writing this and editting it in such a hurry that I kinda left it out
The sheep is about two or three stories high and lord knows how long. See, I live in the middle of 'merino country' in Australia and we have a lot of big sheep farms around, so they built a big concrete one...
And it's pretty much all my town has going for it... it's depressing. Tourists come to my town for two reasons- the big sheep and McDonalds up the road from it (makes a good tourist stop cause we're on the highway between the capital of the country and the state) |

There is a town somewhere with a giant concrete sheep that we’re going to look at.
----------
Of course there is. I do not understand tourism for the life of me. These things cannot be the draw. I mean, if I'm driving through the midwest and I see someting several thousand times its normal sizes I will of course drive over and stop and take pictures because there is nothing to do there. I might even drive a bit out of the way. But that's definitly not going to be what gets me in the state. Same thing, but in Australia, there is not only actual culture and cities, but animals and plants and terrain and so much that has nothing to do with a concrete sheep.
---------------
Oh well, Draco's had so much culture in his life he could probably do with it.
I still don't get why it was illegal for Neville to tell them. He's not allowed to talk about his job? That sounds...odd.
Anyway
Opps. Just noticed my reviews for chapter 4 posted. And posted and posted and posted. Sorry bout that. And my chapter 2 review went missing. Hmmm... |
Author Feedback: That town is actually real- it's where I live (the sheep is about three blocks away) and the coastal town that they're staying is a town I spent a lot of time in when I was growing up
Thanks for your reviews
And I didn't explain the Neville thing... I meant too... he works for the department which approves international travel, however with the Wizarding Privacy laws, no information can be revealed without the persons consent, which Draco didn't give so Neville was bound by the law to not say that Draco had been in to his office and gotten approval for travel.
If that makes sense... it does to me... |

‘He’ll calm down… one day…’
Ahhhh....how very true. Ironically, Ron calmed down before Ginny.
‘And I love you too. Come hell or high water,’ Ginny giggled.
‘All hands on deck, captain Malfoy.’
‘Just don’t abandon me if I’m sinking.’
----------------
Awww. Now that is lovely. And I guess that explains how Neville's in the picture. Unfotunatly, I don't think anyway's explained to Draco and Ginny that when traveling, the room available to storm off in is considerably smaller. |

"Draco to him would always been an evil git. But now as he stood in front of Ron, dribbling about how much he loved Ginny and how much he didn’t want to leave her and that he wanted to be with her for the rest of his life, Draco had become a person to Ron. Finally."
Awwww. Maturity is so sweet. And he didn't even need Hermione to whack him over the head into that epiphany. Awww. Ron and Draco, friends a last. Now they can get drunk together! |

And here I thought Blaise was going to say something heartwarming that would do something to well, the same effect his being a bastard had. Except that if he hadn't been a bastard, the whole thing would have never happened.
I think that I love the idea of the manor being made into a muggle housing developemnt. While I hate housing developements and I do like the stories where the Manor is beautiful and lovely, and a piece of an old world, I think your idea is very fitting. Clever too. |

Whew! No Marriage Law. I don't think they work in fics where the couples already in a relationship. Because then it just contives to keep them there.
I do still want to know how he's breaking the law.
If those photos were real Draco would be running for his life.
And how is Neville the one to know he's leaving? Hmmm..... |

"‘Ginny, unlock the bloody door or I’ll get Ron!’ Hermione bellowed. Smirking to herself, Ginny climbed out of the bathtub and began to dry herself off as Hermione stomped around in the hallway.
‘Don’t do it, Ginny,’ Luna’s dreamy voice said quietly. ‘She’s gone to get Ronald.’"
------------------
*snerk*
We love Luna. Luna is wonderful. Just what you need to add a little levity to a situation. Definatly not good for Hermione's personality type.
-----------------
On a none-story note. I don't know if you're relaoding this story or what, but I and people with fewer Portkey points would appreciate it if you didn't load 6 chapters at once. It's a bit draining.
I do relaize I'm taking the liberty of speaking for other people, and I do appreciate getting to read a story all at once, and I'm not normally low on points, but I imagine there are many who are, so I'm just voicing this.
Anyway, on to the next chapter |
