Author Feedback: I'm glad the seriousness didn't interfere with your enjoyment of the one-shot. I wrote this in an effort to cheer up a friend who had just been through a heart-wrenching break-up.
I didn't put more Harry in the story because it's a pretty Hermoine-centric moment, focusing her thoughts on her contentment. Perhaps sometime I'll write some more about Harry and Hermione and how they came to be.

Author Feedback: You're quite right on both counts about the Charlie backstory. I wrote this little piece specifically to cheer up a friend who's heart had been broken. Perhaps I'll edit the piece to add an author's note to that effect. Thank you for pointing it out.

This was a good fic. Very sweet, it had alot of meaning to it.I never would of thought Hermione and Charlie being together, but i guess it could happen I suppose.I like how you kept her fiances name a secret until the end, even though it was pretty obvious. As far as I'm concerned, Ron and Hermione are just... no, no, no... but I could see her choosing a Weasley as her first serious boyfriend. Charlie just sort of worked. There were lots of clues about Harry's identity, but I thought it would be fun to identify him by descriptors rather than name until the very end. I'm so glad you thought it worked.

Author Feedback: I agree that Charlie's completely wrong for her... it was one of those war things, and didn't work at all... and it gives her the opportunity to really appreciate Harry once she'd found him.
I know it was subtle, but there were a lot of clues (really!) I wrote this for a friend's birthday after a very nasty break-up, and wanted her to know that lasting happiness can be found when least expected.

Sigh...that was good. Better than good actually. I love how you managed to squeeze an entire plot in there with so little dialogue and only tantalizing hints on the identity of Hermione's companion.
