Okay, Harry's a major asshole in this one. And Hermione, just like Sirius said, 'changes her mind more than she changes her clothes'! Why? Hermione's always been stubborn (I think she would say 'principle orientated'), and Ron's just a messenger. Not that I don't like the fic, of course. It's a bit long for a one-shot, but I still like it (it's different in a good way) |
Author Feedback: I have to ask...did you read the first one-shot "The Breaking Point" before reading this one? Because the first one sets up Harry's OOC behavior in this one and kind of explains why. I wrote him as moody!Harry because I wanted it to be angsty. He is a jerk in this one, and in "The Breaking Point", and that's how I wanted him to be. I took a different perspective, writing a Harry who had let the expectations of everyone around him get to him and push him to that fine line between sanity and over the edge madness. Thank you for your honest opinion and review, it's refreshing to hear an honest reaction for a change |

Nuuu!! Harry should have died, and then the ending would have been bittersweet! I love the HHr pairing, don't doubt that I do, but that was the perfect opportunity for Harry to let go of everything and find peace! Dx
Oh, well. . . .
It's still very good despite my preference for the ending to this story.

Its the best I've ever read......of course, second to J.K.Rowling....but much absorbing and full of heart wrenching moments |

I loved the confrontation with ol' Tommy boy. That was a wild idea for the end that you had. & getting to see Sirius again was great! Loved the entire thing.

Great job. This was almost as good as some novel length stories. It had some really intense scenes between Harry and Hermione. But thats how lovers act sometime. Good job.

You're back! Yay. I love that story. I had to go back and reread the first chapter b/c I had forgotten it. It was awesome, angsty but happy. I can't wait until you finish Nanny
Wanted. I hope you get over your writer's block b/c you write such beautiful stories! |

Oh, gorgeous! Full of angst from time to time and I probably wouldn't have read t if I didn't know that there'd be a happy ending but now I'm glad that I did. Long for a one shot, but hey, I don't mind at all! If you find anything else like this while looking through your computer, don't hesitate to post it!!

The two things that I liked best about this piece was Harry's willing self-sacrifice allowing him to live--that in giving up everything, he gained even more.
The second would be Harry telling Hermione at the end of their fight in Gryffindor Tower that he acknowledged her feelings, but needed time to think--and then set a definite time for them to talk. That was honestly his most mature moment of the fic, that he was able to take a step back and not let his gut reactions tear them apart.
Their speeches were a bit long-winded, but heartfelt. I certainly felt Harry's anger that Hermione saw herself as nothing--certainly her own insecurities coming through. Yet, she truly was a Gryffindor, willing to sacrifice all for the greater good.
I also felt really bad for Ron in this chapter, to be caught between two people who were so deeply hurt by each other. I had to admire how he kept going, his own private bravery.
As for the final battle, I liked it, liked its simplicity and how Harry caught Voldemort off guard in that Voldemort couldn't understand selfless love. |
