Woo! I'm going through old stories and I found this one. I'm pretty sure I've read it before, but it was still as intriguing a read as the first time. It feels like even though this story was from Harry's point of view, Hermione was the main character. Dunno if you did it consciously. I think it's because you pretty much kept canon except for the Hermione aspect, we already know what Harry is like. It's Hermione (in this story, at least) who is the unknown quantity, and all of the plot seemed like it was aimed at developing her personality and qualifying her relationship with Harry. I think I once told an author here that Hermione was my favorite Harry Potter character. (Looking back on the stories you've written, there's a chance it was you.) It's stories like these that I really love to read because they exemplify Hermione's character so well.

This was SO amazing and beautiful. A real different take on the whole series. Do tell me, you didn't intend for Ron and Hermione to end up together, right? I mean, there's such a clear connectin between Harry and Hermione....but I'm rambling. My point is, lovely story.

So basically, the end result is exactly the same as it was in canon, disregarding the horrible romances. The newly formed trio go horcrux hunting, with the beginnings of a HHr romance. Utterly brilliant.

Interesting point of view, but, it's really sad to see hermione that way, you know? any way, maybe another chapter? eh?

Really, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy lol I decided to read another of your stories since I liked the other one so much... this should most definitely have a sequel, really! One where we can read about their evolving friendship and then something more Really, it was extremely good, I loved it, great job, seriously!

This was absolutely /wonderful!/ I teared up a couple of times, even. What a wonderful story! /sigh!

I admit that I haven't been around Portkey, or even the internet in general, for quite some time. But I'm glad I took some time out of my mad schedule to re-read this fantastic fic!
I - I really don't know what to say.... Few books, let alone fanfics, have made me cry, but this is one of those rare things.... Like finding a five dollar bill while on your daily walk to work or school ... A change in your daily routine.
The story itself is structured simply; beginning, flashback and then end, but like I've heard more than once, when you look at a gravestone and you see a name and a couple of years with a line in between; you feel sombre about the death, yet you don't like about that simple line in the middle which REALLY symbolizes the life of the person. It's the soul of this story that is so fantastic! The subtlety of the Harry/Hermione relationship and the feeling the reader gets at the end of wanting MORE and MORE is just bloody fantastic! Let me say that again: bloody FANTASTIC!
I love this. If I ever go to Church (which I probably won't seeing as I'm an atheist, but that's not the topic I'm discussing right now), I'll certainly pray that I will find I have a friend like the Hermione you have written in this fic.
'Cause that's what real friendship's about. The willingness to protect someone....

Hmm. A reworking of the first six books with a seemingly minor yet wholly significant alteration. Interesting.

This story was very sweet - I enjoyed it, for I was able to see a different take on things that while being so different from the ways things turned out in the novels, it was believable...
You have a true and amazing talent as a writer! As I've said before, I was completely hooked on Forever Knight (still am), and I felt as though I was living it. I laughed, and cried, and swooned, and every other possible emotional reaction there is - I practically felt what the characters felt!
I can't wait to see more of your writing (and I am hoping and praying desperately for some sort of sequel to Forever Knight, or anything else that might have connection to it)...
