It's a pretty good beginning, and the style and tone seem to gel well with the time period.

How old are you? Some of your sentences seem to be of a type that I used to get from my 7th and 8th grade classes in Composition, This story is well written on about an 8th grade level.

I'd just like to say that this is a very good story. But maybe you should know that you keep refering to Cho as Sir Cho Chang. Shouldn't you say lady Cho Chang? Any way that was just a little bit of info for you. But this is an awesome story.
