It's good. I'd like to see what their life would be like for a year without the fate of the wizarding world on their shoulders. Good concept can't wait to read the rest.

You know what I was thinking as I was reading this? "Oh, no, she's not going to let them be happy, is she? I mean - I wouldn't let them be happy - so she won't either!" Which is terrible, because my heart went out for both H and H there. Poor things.

But it was beatiful, Ama, as always. You capture so much with so little. Of course they can't leave - that would be giving up everything they are. *sniffs*

OH MY!!! How different. Moving and lovely, in a "dark" sort of way, but still lovely all the same. Keep up the wonderful job.

I loved this! It just shows how selfless Harry and Hermione are to give up their dream of being normal to protect others. I loved the way they both imagined and discussed all the details but knew it would never happen because they're too noble.

I'm so glad you posted it. At first I thought you'd posted something I'd never read before and almost flipped out. Alas, this is lovely. So wistfully hopeful and at the same time, a bit sad at the end.

What a sad piece. I really enjoyed your turn of phrase, it was indeed almost poetic. Hopefully even though they never spoke of it again they could make something like it happen. The yearning for peace and happiness is universal and often discovered in retrospect.

Meaning it never happened? Or did they make it happen? Hmm... I wonder.

Dear Ama, you did it again! Your writing is so full of images it's like reading poetry in prose form. I was "sucked" into their world and was breathing the same air, seeing the same London view, listening to the Muggle traffic and feeling the floor rattling.
It's amazing how with that line of "Harry, what's the matter? You're distracted today." right after their lovemaking, you managed to give us the sense that their r'ship was not new.
And the ending, I knew they were not going to follow through, It was just their little pretend "Intermezzo".

This is beautiful, delicate, intense, hot, full of longing, sweet, touching, funny - all of these emotions, mixed together, like in a kaleidoscope.

You write them being together in such an incredible way. Wish I had words to describe it. It's a feeling of happiness, such as when you see something beautiful and perfect - a work of art, a beautiful landscape, but it's also some sort of painful longing to it, longing of an imperfect mind and soul, longing for infinity. I don't know how to describe it better.

And this story is full of lines that make my heart beat faster, for their beauty.

'I--I--he begins. Love--love you, she completes. Night in its starred bed shudders with moonlight. The room spins. For one endless moment the idea of ever being two separate, self-contained human beings seems ludicrous.
Beyond his arms’ length, beyond the curve of her back, there is no world.'

'Muggle London, never asleep, rattles with scattered voices, wheels, wind. All that’s visible from the window is the dark network of antennae, masts of a fleet of earthbound ships. '

'She waits, a hand curled over his heart.'

'He swallows and looks away. But there’s nowhere else to look; she fills his world.'

'"I love you, but I can’t shake the feeling that every moment with you is the last I’ll ever have." "Every moment for the last five years?" she whispers. He kisses the corner of her mouth, trying to keep the tremor away from his voice. "Every moment for the last five years."'


And this whole amazing paragraph starting with 'Her heart turns at the look in his eyes, pleading but full of hope, framed by shadows. (...)'

A lovely little piece. I think we all contemplate escape now and then, when life gets to be too much; however, Harry and Hermione have much more reason than most of us to do so!

I like the way you show their ability to communicate with each other--always understanding what the other wants and is thinking. Very nice.
