To make people understand, you should put some kind of an explanation in an author's note as to why he did what he did. Otherwise, it doesn't make sense. And it's hard to like things that don't make sense. Just take HBP as an example. It doesn't make sense, that's why it's not a very likeable book.

That was creepy... but the good kind of creepy... and so very sad too. But again creepy.
