The idea that our loved ones are never truly gone, so long as we remember them, is only partly true; the memories live on only when we have others with whom to share them. When you're the last one left, the memories fade, and instead of being a comfort they turn into bitter reminders of what's been lost.
Given what happened in HBP, I honestly believe that JKR intends to have Harry die nobly at the end, in the best Tragic Greek Hero fashion. The irony of that will be that it means that, in the final crux of the story, the so-called 'Boy Who Lived' never really had a chance to.  |
Author Feedback: I suppose, in a way, that it is indeed only partly true. It depends a lot on the type of person that is left behind. I've seen it go both ways. Some people turn bitter, while others are thankful for the life they have left to live.
HBP was an extreme disappointment to me, and I've also considered that Harry will die in the end in "Tragic Greek Hero fashion," as you put it. To be honest (and I know some people will hate me for what I'm about to say), I'd much rather have Harry die than end up with Ginny permanently. |

wow! that was amazing. i cried my eyes out. i felt so sad that hermione died but at the same time my heart leapt that harry and amber share such a strong bond of love. you should put ron in and maybe his children. *hint hint* great job!!!! this could turn into a novel length fic. can't wait for the next chappie! |

It inspired me so much because I can personally identify with the song and someone special who, though not dead, is not the huge part of my life that he once was. You should have warned me that this was going to happen. Aren't you obliged to tell readers of a character death? (Not sure.)
It is well written, but I hate it when Harry or Hermione die. |

Author Feedback: I enjoy a happy ending Harmony story just as much as the next person, but this plot refused to get out of my head. I'm still glad you liked it, regardless of its extreme sadness. Two things: one, this should be under angst as well. Two, even though the intro hints at the plot, you should have a warning of major character death in there as well. Many of us don't care to read stories with depressing, tragic ends. We read fanfics to escape how crappy our own lives are, not to be made more miserable.
Now, this is resonably well written for what it is, but I never would have bothered if I'd really known in advance that you were going to kill her off permanently.
