A fabulous story! Congratulations! I'm curious though. Even though Voldemort is dead, couldn't he still come back through his many other Horcruxes? What about Harry's scar? Is it still a Horcrux?

Huh, couldn't the staff be discreet and send a message through a note or something? Ask one of the other students (or prefects) to give it to Harry?

Why didn't they just think of shrinking their trunks? Or Apparate away when they animals gave chase?

My gosh!! I was extremely frustrated!! I feared I'd clicked on a Harry/Ginny story and had to go back and check if this was still a Harry/Hermione story...then I remembered that Portkey doesn't have Harry/Ginny ships...lol.

Not to mention the fact that you kept the trio together. Their friendship in book 1-5 was amazing to say the least... i always tend to laugh out loud everytime i read this part:

"It’s almost like a Hogwarts tradition! Voldemort attaches himself to Quirrell’s head, you beat him, we go to Honeydukes. Voldemort unleashes a basilisk, you beat him, we go to Honeydukes. Voldemort challenges you to a duel on his father’s gravestone, you beat him, we go to Honeydukes. Voldemort tries to snatch that thing from the Department of Mysteries, you beat him, we go to Honeydukes. Do you see a pattern here, Harry?”

“You mean besides your fixation on Honeydukes?” Cracks me up everytime i swear so very ron like!!!!!!


and this part always always always ALWAYS makes me cry:

I know this was written a long time ago, but I wanted to let you know that I really enjoyed it. Building with Lincoln Logs between the lines of canon, indeed. I doubt that I have to tell you that I prefer your version to DH by far. It was creative and lovely.

What a brilliant journey you've taken me through. Thank you. This alternate plot (since I've read the 7th book already) is so much preferable to certain parts, ahem, of JKR's canon. Good on ya, mate!

that was a fantastic chapter, how harry was going to go insane thinking about seeing his parents corps, speaking from experince, that is one of the most tramtic experince a person can go through, and you never forget it
