If there are more H/Hr plot holes(Oh there will be!)in HBP you should have a shot at them too.

I do hope that there is something like this which happened in the 'back story' of the canon series, especially with all the recent spoilers of H/G in Half-Blood Prince (which is only 24 hours away).

Because I do see something like this happening, especially to Hermione: overanalyzing things, wondering if she does or does not, etc... and possibly realizing, too late, that she had allowed an opportunity to pass.

In which case, she will fall back on her 'best friend' attitude (as what happened with Cho in OoTP): be suppotive, be there for Harry, fight beside him if need be.

Aaawww...Neville's talk with Hermione about the events that happened at the Department of Mysteries gave me such a warm fuzzy feeling that I had a sudden urge to go back and read that part in OOTP again.

I really enjoyed how you wrote Neville in this, he was such a sweetheart and told Hermione exactly what she needed to hear. I really thought that Ron was only pretending to be sleeping during their talk, and would cause problems for everyone, but thankfully I was wrong. Now I can't wait for the next chapter.

I won't venture a guess at Hermione's parents knowledge, or lack there of. At one time I thought Hermione would tell them a lot of what happened and at other times not. It's a tough call.

Neville in your story I feel was spot on! A few of my friends and I at work have had the H/Hr and R/Hr conversation before. With the exception of one woman I think most of the females think a H/Hr is the relationship that should develop. The other female along with the guys that have read it seem to go with the opposites attrack theory. I know that many times opposites attrack but I tend to think those are different opposites and I just can't see Hermione putting up with someone who is constantly putting her down.

My personal theory (and I may be completely wrong if Rowling decides she's going to kill Harry at the end) is that if Harry can defeat Voldemort with a power he knows not it has to be love. If it is not Harry's love for Hermione I don't know what love it could be other than a love of humanity. You don't just bring a character in late in a seven part series and realize this strong feeling of love when you never were treated with love to begin with. Who is he going to learn it from? My answer Hermione.

As for the train and bus schedule ... I really like this touch. I've often wondered myself why this has never been used in any of the fan fictions (books are easier to understand). I'd never been to London before but I just returned from a vacation and aside from the terror bombing (I was in the Underground at the time although not in a close station) I found it extremely easy to get around and I'm used to driving a car here in the states. I'd move to London in a heartbeat and give up my car for public transportation if I could find a job that would pay me enough to get a work VISA and move. I got a seven day travel card and I was travelling from Kingston to wherever every day I was there using the train, tube and bus.

Well at any rate ... great job!! The scene between Neville and Hermione might be AU but hopefully the ideas sprung won't!!!

I really liked the Neville was the insightful one. I have a feeling that he's picked up many things while being overlooked. His repeateded injunction to be quiet was hilarious, so Hermione.

I agree that her parents probably know little of what's going on. They seem so separate from her Hogwarts life. However, I also agree that they will find out sooner or later... especially with her latest injury.

Great start to another story. I really like how you posted this and the epilogue of the Curse of Atlantis at the same time! Anyway, I like that you have started from a different point of view than that of most stories, however, I would personally like to see Neville, Ginny, and Luna have more of a role in the story, but it is too early to tell, now.
