Yep, that was great, and yep i totally agree with you, i thought that too when i read OotP and i kept waiting through the last books that he would realize how important she is to him, but he never did and that's one of the reasons i didn't like Deathly Hallows. Wonderfully written. I have always had a weird attachment to stories like this: ones that skips around and has the reader holding on to keep up. I think they are some of the most fun to read. They remind me of free form poetry. This was beautiful. I kind of got the impression that he took her for granted as well. Glad he could wise up and appreciate her. Very well written. |

I notice the date of your posting and realise that you posted this before HBP.
Now, in view of HBP, this story is prophetically healing. Because they seem to be separating in HBP, this pre-HBP story that you wrote becomes a kind of epilogue that makes up for the HBP fiasco.
To me, in HBP, it is clear Harry never realised all the things Hermione has ever done for him, and he does not appreciate her at all. But then, the HBP Harry and Hermione belongs to JKR, and I think JKR is seriously off-canon in it.

That piece definitely just blew me away. I'm serious. You just blew me away in that one shot. The ones that I typically find are the fluffy knod, though those aren't bad, but this one, whoa.
I'd like to nominate you for something, or give you a million cookies, but that doesn't seem like enough. If only you were J.K. Rowling, then I'd write you 1000 pieces of fan mail. Haha.
Nice writing. I thought that the progression that you made throughout this piece was fantastic. And of course, you brighten up the shades of gray. We often see Hermoine as the friend and we know that Harry appreciates her, even though he never says anything, but you blantly point that out, bold. I like it. Nice job on it. Though that may not be the exact saying. |

You know, I liked this, I really did. I didn't expect to like it because I don't think Harry takes Hermione for granted, I think he's just been acting like a typical teenage boy would. I am of the mind that he will realize how much she has done for him, I think in OotP, he had the beginnings of that revelation...that Hermione means a great deal to him and that she will be the one that he gives his heart to. But I did like the way you wrote this especially that Hermione was able to recognize the love in his eyes. Hermione does deserve all of Harry's love and anything less would not be enough. Good job! |

I'm glad that this turned out better than you expected.
As I told another reviewer, yes, Harry's just acting like a typical teenage boy, but this was from Hermione's point of view. When it comes to Harry and Ron, she is a little bit sensitive, I think, because they and their opinions mean so much to her. If I was Hermione, I would want to be appreciated just a little, as well. (I think her expectations, though, are just slightly higher than mine.)
I noticed that as well in OotP-- Harry's discovering how much Hermione means to him, especially after she took that hit from the Death Eater. I suppose that RHr and HG shippers could argue that any person would react to that after seeing their best friend possibly be dead... but I don't know.... the boy couldn't BREATHE... oops, sorry, I'm rambling.

I really liked your story. I don't know why everyone thinks that Harry is above being thoughtless, he is only human after all. And he is only male. That is enough to let everyone know why he is being the way he is. I know he is the Great Harry Potter, the boy who lived, but get over it...he's just like everyone else and is just as likely to be just like us...IMPERFECT. |

You're right; Harry is only human (and male, so therefore automatically imperfect, Lol). However, this piece is from Hermione's perspective. I don't know about you, but I think that girls like to be appreciated, especially Hermione who gives up so much for him.
