I like the whole looking-back idea. It's really unique and quite well-done for a one-shot. Although the lyrics add to the story and the ideas behind it, they are rather disruptive to the flow. Overall, very good.

I don't normally like songfics but i did as you said and read it while listening to the song, and my god you got me crying. I've heard that song many times before but it never made me cry, and neither has a fanific before.

okay, i admit it I cried.....something like this hasn't made me cry since "A Walk to Remember" (merlin that was a sad movie) And I absoluteley love Josh Groban, and that is a beautiful song..... i was singing it while reading ;-) Great job. I normally don't read short fics, but i felt like i needed to read this one, and i'm glad i did! Keep up the good work!

I saw the summary, and thought the story looked interesting. You have some problems with the confusion of "its" and "it's", and I caught a few syntax errors here and there. Your sentences are a little long and you substitute words such as "there" for "their". Basically, in terms of grammar and punctuation, I would give you a 9.5. However, I don't really like the way you wrote the story. I can definitely believe that Hermione will continue to love Harry even after his death, because she is simply the kind of person who doesn't give her friendship easily. 'Sides, we all know Harry and Hermione are soulmates.



I couldn't feel Hermione's love for him at all, even though you mentioned how she loved him and how much she missed him. An angst fic like this should have an intimate feeling to it - somehow, it should make me feel the pain and her promise to love him forever. Your addition of the Omniscient Narrator somehow ruined the mood - it simply made me feel that the narrator was just quoting clichès of love and adding a few song lyrics to spice up the story with. It's not that there's something horribly wrong with your story or anything - The style simply seems wrong to me. Anyway, those are just my comments...



I won't give you a seven or eight and jeopardise your ratings, considering you stopped me from admitting I'm a closet fluff-lover...For a really angsty H/Hr fic, check out attackofthejello's Semper Solus. I think your fic's pretty good - just don't like the style, that's all...Don't take it to heart.
