I can't accurately express in words (like Ben) how fantastic these three stories are. I was hooked from the get go and couldn't keep the story out of my mind. Having now finished it, I feel as if I was saying farewell to an admired family that has to move away. Thank you for crafting such a genuine, heart-warming tale filled with stunning characters and plot.

I've spent the last week reading this whole series and it was absolutely brilliant! I'm sorry about my earlier note about Harvard and the vet program - I hadn't gotten that far in the story to read the note about it. Anyway, I loved the story a ton. The hardships Emerson and Brandon face are so realistic - probably moreso in my eyes because I also have a long distance relationship and have often though how apparating or portkey would make it so much easier! I love how the ending turned out with everyone kind of having their own epilogue. I must say, I do wish Ben ended up with Kadya - I was rooting for them! I do enjoy how this whole series started with Harry & Hermione and you ended it with Harry & Hermione - quite the perfect ending.

I just started reading these and I know these stories were written almost three years ago; you're probably not even reading reviews anymore, but I just had to point this out for my own sanity. Harvard doesn't have a school of veterinary medicine. The only ivy league with one is Cornell. Aspiring vet student is the only reason I know. Otherwise, I love this series and am excited to read the rest!

Sorry to say, the letters did tip me off to the pregnancy, but the explosive abortion was wholly un-expected.

'It's pretty much spring everywhere?' What about us folks down under?

Sorry - only kidding.

Great story.

Wonderfully written, and a nice closer to the series you created. Sorry to see that you've not written anything more recently; you certainly have a talent, judging by this. Hope HBP didn't scare you away Anyway, thanks for a really nicely written series.
Author Feedback: Thanks so much for your review (and the reviews of "Safe in Harbor" and "Above It All" as well). It is so neat to still be receiving reviews so long after the story has been completed! I appreciate it very much

Regarding whether or not HBP scared me away -- well, it not so much "scared me away" as *disgusted* me away. That feeling has calmed in the two years since I read the book, but I still have no intention to write fanfiction again. But I'm glad I did this stuff back when Harry Potter inspired only warm and fuzzy feelings in me

Thank you so much again for taking the time to review! You can check out the other stories I wrote back in those pre-HBP days (mostly non-Emerson related, except for one one-shot). Thanks.

Ohh, I totally forgot about Harvard! I hope everything will work out fine, in the end I now it will When I read the second story (with Emerson in Hogwarts & Cristella Montgomery) I suspected that Brandon and Emerson would end up together! =)
Must read the next chapter!

Aww....

And so it is with a sense of melancholy that I finish this series. I am going to miss reading about these characters. Yes, especially Emerson and Brandon and their two kids, but also the rest of the family.

This story was actually my favourite in the series, which surprised me because, as I've said, I don't read alot of stories about Potter kids. Even AngieJ's (Ebony)'s Trouble in Paradise/Paradise Lost kids didn't appeal to me as much as your Potter offspring. The fact that Harry/Hermione were barely mentioned except when it came to Emerson didn't worry me - in fact, I remember thinking when they did make an appearance that I hoped they wouldn't outshine Emerson at all. Not that you really could outshine her. Yes, she is my favourite fictional character at the moment. Funny, I went from wishing I had a kid like her in Above it All to thinking Brandon was a lucky arsehole in Writing...before I remembered she didn't exist. Yes, I fell in love with a fictional character.

And again, she definitely is not a Mary Sue. While Emerson Potter is beautiful, loveable, friendly and to-die-for, she's also stubborn, annoying, hot-headed and sometimes so emotional (and a bit self-indulgent at times!) that I wanted someone to give her a smack upside the head. Which was exactly the way her character should have developed after seeing her in Above It All! Brandon was the same - although I though in some instances he was a little too perfect, especially since he was an annoying prat of a kid. Then again, I can believe that he would have matured greatly after Em's episode with Stella the Mad Bitch. As I said before, this was the only HP fanfic I've ever read where the canon chatracters were not centre stage - and I didn't care.

I have a few criticisms, but they're minor. First, the fact that Em's episode in Above it All was only mentioned once was a bit weird. It was a seminal event that shaped her life, and really messed her up for a while, and it was also the event that paved the way for Brandon and Em's feelings towards each other - but it was hardly discussed. I supopse from Em's POV that it's all water under the bridge and old history and that she was trying to forget it all - and I suppose for most of the story she was so happy that she barely gave it a thought. it just surprise me though.

And finally, i wish you'd told us a bit more about the extended family and friends of the Potters. In the Epilogue you talked about the Potterlets and their lives and future loves - but what happened to the Malfoys, the Weasleys, the Lupins? I know it was a lot of them (actually, come to think of it, a lot is an understatement...), but it would have been nice to know what became of them. Oh, and I almost forgot - what happened to Kady??? last we hear of her she's modified Matt Adler's memory...did she find the love of her lilfe? Did she and Em stay friends? She was also quite a loved character of mine...

Anyway, as I said, minor criticisms. I think that after this story I'm taking a break from reading fanfic, as I've not read much that comes within pissing distance of these stories lately (yes, that definitely was a compliment! ). The whole Safe in Harbour universe was quite an achievement and I can understand you not wanting to write more. You've left quite an impresssive legacy and even if you don't write any more I think you'll never want for readers. I don't know if these stories have been recced but I'm going to do it anyway! Thank you for finishing them, and thank you very much for writing them in the first place! If you do write again you can be sure that I'll be reading.
Author Feedback: Wow, and there I was thinking that your review of AIA was award-winning!

Man, any more praise like that and my head will swell so big that I'll have trouble getting through narrow doorways I'm so glad you like grown-up!Emerson (to the point of falling in love with her! Hmm...). She is definitely all those adjectives you used, and I really strived (strove?) to get a realistic balance in her character. You're right about Brandon, though.. sometimes I do think he's a tad too *pat*, but at the same time, it really required someone with such a vast reservoir of patience to deal with as high-strung a person as Em could be.

And you're definitely not the first to wonder and be disappointed about the lack of information about what happened to the rest of the gang. My beta reader even said that what I shared about the other Potter kids made her feel cheated, cause there's only a brief summary on each one. If I did it all over -- which will not happen, period -- I would delve into what became of the more memorable (to me) characters -- Lyna & Davis, Marc, Marissa, Kady, Krishna, quirky Olivia.

About Kady: as far as I imagined it, she and Emerson definitely remained friends, and she was one of Em's bridesmaids, as was Krishna. When I was writing the epilogue, though, I decided not to write them in because it would then require a level of acknowledgement and exposition that I wasn't willing to give at the time. Looking back, I should have done so, just to provide a sense of closure on that end. You can safely assume that she found the love of her life, though

I'm an English minor in college, and it's fascinating learning about literature (and creative writing, eventually). I was (and still am) a very uninformed writer, who didn't at all delve into the psychological nitty-gritty of characters/events that I wrote about. Which means that more than once an insight that a reader picked up from my work was news to me cause I hadn't consciously set out to write that. Does that make sense? I would be going back to my work and rereading, trying to pick up whatever it was that the reader claimed to have picked up. Sometimes I would get it, sometimes not. But it's a very neat thing nevertheless.

I appreciate your comments very much. Thank you!

Just thought I'd pop in quickly with this one:

Best. Line. Ever.
"Oh Merlin, the estrogen bogeyman strikes again," muttered a lazy voice from the kitchen doorway. "Can't a bloke have a single day free from all these sob-fests and lamentations?"

I love that kid.

Lovely first chapter enjoyed reading it. I love Brandon Wood, he seems so HOT! I love both your other stories. And I know for a fact that I'll love this one.

Loved it. Loved your story, loved this chapter. To bad their wont be anymore in this series. But I can't say that I'm not glad the story ended. Didn't mean I didn't like it, like I said at the top, I loved it, but well I wanted to see how Emerson's and Brandon's life was going to be like in the future. Enjoyed reading this. Loved it a whole lot! Loved it a whole lot! Loved it a whole lot! Loved it a whole lot! Loved it a whole lot! Loved it a whole lot!
