Nice job. I liked Hermione's question to Umbridge. Umbridge's response was right on the money, I think. Also, I think that Hermione is a lot stronger than a lot of people think she is. That's one of the things the I really enjoy in your longer fic. |
Author Feedback: Thanks. I characterize Hermione like she is, becuase Like you, I do think she is stronger than a lot of fics give her credit for...goodship *cough*cough* I made her, heck most of the characters strong as they were as they have to keep up with harry don't they. |

Umbridge says 'Hem hem' not 'Uh Hem' and I think Hermione wasn't really keen on the idea of being an Auror when she was looking through the careers pamphlets in canon. But I've not read it in a while and I could be wrong. I see her as more of a Healer, myself but I can understand why you wrote this piece. I do like it, it's well written and I like how most of her decision stems from the fact that it's also Harry's. Anyway, keep up the good work.

I loved reading that McGonagall stood up to the toad and the "Granger, you can look" line. Very cool.
And of course my favourite part had to be the notes McGonagall wrote at the end--". . . and Granger is beside him."  |

Why did you suggest Care of Magical Creatures?
Otherwise, liked the piece and that that it fit nicely in the Lions of Gryffindor series. I so like the face offs with Umbridge in OotP. I'll be curious to find out what Hermione does for a career in canon. |
Author Feedback: Honestly in Cannon, and assuming that Harry really does keep to his Auror career, which i think he might as per a couple of quotes...I could see her applying as an Auror, or a healer...or possibly something off the wall, like elf relations. however I have long thought that one piece of datum could tell a lot about the rest of the books. From what we;ve seen from the cannon, Harry would probably be best at teaching, Quiddich or an Auror. The first i think is in question as Rowling has actully given a more or less straight up quote that Harry wasn't cut out to teach long term (not the exact wording). Quiddich is possible but It would make him even more famous, which he might chy away from, leaving an Auror.
Ron...Auror...maybe if he got through potions...I don't think Rowling will do an "finger of god" thing like I did and have DD override Snape. But I could be wrong.
As to Magical Creatures, a couple of reasons. McGonagall only suggested a four classes by name to Harry in his interview in cannon, one I assumed that Hermione would go crazy with only four classes...(note both of them have care of Dangerous and REALLY dangerous creatures in Darkness/lions.) and secound I assumed that the bag guys might use magical creatures in thier hijinks.
I never put a date on this piece but I tried to imply that it was not that much out from the OWLs and Umbridge's ambush of McGonagall when she went to save Hagrid. I wanted to have some addtional bitterness between McGonagall and umbridge. |
