Painfully poignant and beautifully written. I love this story! A very good example of Hermione's internal turmoil. Although I'd have liked it better if you had went just a bit further to describe how this new development has affected Harry, Ron, and Hermione's friendship(s).

Nevertheless, well written! I enjoyed it.

Very nice story. The title is a great metaphor. I enjoyed the allusions to Caesar, Cleopatra etc.; I've never seen that before in a HP fan fic. I very much liked the way Harry and Hermione reclaimed their friendship before 7th year started, as well as everyone's realizations at the end. I'm a bit surprised you didn't mention the prophecy at all; it seemed like Harry never told either Hermione or Ron about it, as I'm sure Hermione would NOT have glossed over such an important thing in a first-person story like this. But that was really the only thing I found missing. Nicely done.
Author Feedback: Harry announced what the prophecy was all about to his Quidditch team during 6th year...the year of "estrangement."

Ron never told her, as he would never talk about "Quidditch" with Hermione, and Harry eventually did tell her during on of their "talks" in seventh year. Though by that time...what was the point of dwelling on it? It was obvious from the start, was it not?

Though it is sort of on the fringes when Harry tells her of his fear of "dying."

I really do wish I could let everyone read my mind when it comes to things like this. But alas...

Thanks for the crticism though!

wow. beautiful and eloquent and perfect. i generally hate ron/hermione/harry triangles, but you did it beautifully (especially because ron isn't a jealous idiot who throws away their friendship). again, its beautiful and i loved it. thank you!

WOW! This stoey was absolutley amazing. It's definitely going on my favorites! I loved everything about it. I loved being able to get into Hermione's thoughts. See what she was really thinking when she was with Harry (I loved the Harry/Cho kiss scene...she should've slapped Ron! ) This was really beautifully written. I loved how Hermione compared herself to Cleopatra. This seemed so canon. It was like JKR wrote something from Hermione's PoV. I wouldn't be surprised if the sixth book came out and this exact thing happened. You are amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

I have no words for how magnificent this is. I devoured it and loved every single word of it.

I enjoy your style of writing, as well as the classical references you threw in there. They gave a spark to the story which made it stand out. I do hope you write something else, as I'd read it in a heartbeat.

Let me catch my breath first… 17 thousand words in one whole big chapter (whew!). You have captured Hermione’s point of view vividly. The post-kiss scene from OotP, so many contentions spawned from it… it’s so wonderful to see those lines again from the book, coming from another angle.

I share your idea of H/G and R/Hr coming together first before Harry and Hermione could realize that they really belong in each other’s arms.

This is my new favourite.
Continue sharing your gift, keep writing.

Author Feedback:

I'm glad you liked it.

By the way...I rally loved Interludes. I'm so bad with reviews because sometimes I really don't know what to write, but I really did enjoy the story. You have talent. Simply loved it.

And if you're reading this, and haven't read it, go read it!

Excellent story, very well written, with a nice buildup from canon to the subsequent books. You also came up with insights into Hermione's actions surrounding Harry's involvement with Cho that were quite revealing, as was the Caeser/Cleopatra/Anthony comment. Well done, indeed; I hope you post other work here in the future!

An absolutely wonderfully written story about the turbulence of Hermione's emotions. There is so much to say about this that it would have been easier had you broken it up into chapters.
I loved the classical references, having a background in them myself. I loved the discussions that Hermione would have with herself and how she fought so hard against the truth and practically killed herself in the process.
Harry estranging her was of no surprise, he was simply repaying the hurt that he himself felt. Yet it was good that he came back to her and acknowledged how much he needed her.
The battle scene was well-done and this story was one of the few where I could see Hermione actually using an Unforgiveable, she's not truly in a healthy state of mind to begin with.
Ron's acceptance of her feelings was poingant and so necessary for Hermione to actually have happiness. The final scene where they are all coming clean and accepting the truth was nicely done, ending the hurt for all of them.

Hi.

You posted it here! I love this fic. It is one of my favorites.

I thought the scene where Harry is telling Hermione and Ron about Cho's kiss was partically good. I am sure you know that many R/HR and H/HR shippers have had intense debates over this scene and its significance. I think you caught Hermione's feelings/character spot on here. Great job. I could just see canon Hermione thinking the same way.

The only minor problem I had was with Harry's characterization when he is begging Hermione for forgiveness. Overall it was good, but I thought his speech where he mentions Dante's Hell was more than a bit too eloquent for canon Harry.

Author Feedback: LOL.

It's an ongoing thing I have with myself. I must always reference Dante in every single one of my fics...although most of the time it isn't as obvious.

Couldn't help myself though.
